Works well to fluff old, matted carpet, but don’t expect a miracle, and it’s hard work.
I had a motorhome’s with 10-year-old carpet that was matted in the high traffic areas. I bought this and another kind of carpet fluffing dingus. The other one did very little, but this one did a great job.It was a lot of work. I put about an hour into fluffing about 20 square feet of carpet! And that hour wasn’t easy; it’s exhausting. However, I was pretty impressed with the results. My carpet went from looking more like felt to feeling soft and fluffy.Don’t expect miracles, mind you. As you’re raking your carpet, you’re also combing the strands, so and twist in the individual strands gets pulled out. As a result, the carpet isn’t restored to look exactly like it was when brand new. But our carpet was a whole lot better than it had been in the two years we had it, and we were able to sell the motorhome’s without replacing the carpet first.I wish I’d known about this thing earlier; if I had, I’d have raked my carpet with it now and then to prevent it from matting over time. Our new RV has no carpet ( :-) ), but if your floors do, I recommend this to keep your carpets fluffy—or to bring some limited life into carpets that look beyond redemption.Just take it slow and do it in sections so you can rest in between. I did mine all at once and gave myself a blister on my hand. It was sweaty, difficult work, but totally worth it.

Does the job
Why did you pick this product vs others?:Works well. Will pull up carpet strands if you’re too aggressive. I find that angling the brush handle downward more helps reduce that also. My carpets are only 3 years old but matted down from high traffic areas. It’s fluffing the carpet up again and kicking up dirty stuff that was matted under the carpet.

Durable
I should have paid more attention to the dimensions; I was sort of expecting this to be a little wider. With the narrow width (4.9") it is okay for a small area, but for a full room carpet will require a bit more work. I tried it out today and it appears to be well constructed and should hold up well. As for performance, I'm not all that impressed. I did a small area in my living room that is a little matted, but I don't really see a difference in the carpet's appearance. But for $10, I'll go ahead and keep it.

No thanks
Ripped the carpet fibers out. Bought to use on the stairs carpet and I’m completely disappointed. And I know how to use one of these, I’ve been around long enough to have experience.

This thing works
This thing works. I had to go over the same spots multiple times before it really brought the carpet back to life. Some people recommend using a dinner fork. This thing works better. It will pull some of the carpet out of the Matt is really bad but the amount is nothing to be concerned with. I used this tool then shampoos the carpet with an extractor and it looks new again.

Gives You Hope, Not Results
- This brush works great—for anyone named Jesus Christ with the ability to hover or walk on water. But if you’re just trying to make your carpet look new again, miracles are not included.- Should only be used on rugs that are strictly for decoration.- Best used for giving your carpet a gentle pat and a pep talk.- This brush will only make you feel helpful.- Ideal for carpets that already look brand new.- Should come with a sign: For Entertainment Purposes Only.- Turns out, it’s really just a lint roller’s underachieving cousin.- Pairs nicely with denial and dim lighting.
