Great adventure!
4 1/2 StarsI really enjoyed this book. I hope there are more stories with this couple in future books. After the first bit (that threw a lot of names at me), I settled into the piece and came to love Kit quickly. His backstory touched the part of me that was so different from those around me. I just wanted to hug and comfort him.I wish I could have seen things from Ethan’s point of view so I could have loved him as much as I did Kit. I think he probably deserves it.Their romance took a while, but I was satisfied with all aspects when it was all said and done. The adventure they undertook was well-written/planned, and executed. I felt their excitement, boredom, fear, anger, and, finally, their satisfaction. I was definitely getting Indy vibes. This is some good stuff.I look forward to more from this author.

Loved it
I absolutely enjoyed this book. It's not often you come across a well written MM romance with a good adventure plot with some well written heated moments as well. I felt it was a good balance of all three.

Love and adventure
This book’s mix of romance and fantastical archaeological adventure makes for a fun read.Kit Sawyer comes from a family of archaeologists famous for their Indiana Jones-style expeditions. Prevented from joining them by severe epilepsy, Kit is the boring one, a researcher who never goes into the field. That changes when he translates the symbols found on a mysterious Aztec crown. In a fit of whimsy, Kit places the crown on his head, which forges a mystical link between Kit and the relic. To find a way to break that connection, Kit sets off to find the place of the crown’s origin—the lost city of Chipanya. He doesn’t go alone, though; Kit’s grandfather insists that Kit travel with Ethan, who is both his grandfather’s assistant and Kit’s former stepbrother. The forced proximity of their trip sets the stage for romance. At first, Kit and Ethan engage in a lot of amusing sniping back and forth, which they both use as a defense to conceal how they really feel about each other. It’s clear early on that Ethan cares for Kit. Kit, however, has to work through some resentment toward Ethan, whose ability to join his father and grandfather on their adventures left Kit feeling like an outsider in his own family. As they spend time together, Kit’s bitterness fades, which allows him to give into the attraction he’s always felt and fall in love with Ethan.I really enjoyed Kit’s transformation from seeing himself as a bit player in his family’s story to becoming the hero who gets the guy at the end of his adventure. This review is based on a complimentary advanced reader copy; all opinions are my own.

mm adventure romance
The First and Last Adventure of Kit Sawyer is a standalone by S.E. Harmon. An action adventure romance with strong Indiana Jones vibes and a hate to love scenario between stepbrothers. Our MC and solo narrator Kit has epilepsy, which made growing up following in the footsteps of his famous archeologist parents difficult. Where they traveled the world, he was stuck experiencing it second hand through their tales and books. When he finds himself possessed by an ancient Aztec god, he has no choice but to go on his first journey to find a lost city. His stepbrother Ethan automatically invites himself along. His "hate" of his stepbrother is kind of understandable. His parents always treated him with extra caution and he felt like Ethan was the son his father wished he could have. The forced proximity of the excursion forces him to see Ethan in a different light, and that maybe it's time to move past his childhood envy. Their romance is a slow burn with a dose of pining that results in a few quality steamy scenes.Aspects holding me back from a higher rating - I felt like the end was kind of rushed . Kit is warned by someone he trusts explicitly not to give the Aztec god his power back and in the end does so in order to save his and Ethan's lives what followed was anticlimactic to me. Also single POV ,unless perfectly executed, always lessens my reading experience.Overall, I really enjoyed this one. The story is packed with adventure, a lost Aztec city, waterfalls, danger, a bit of supernatural, sarcasm, outdoor steam and a happy ending.

Four We Need More Kit and Ethan Stars
Fun mash up of Indiana Jones, The Mummy, El Dorado, Legends of the Hidden Temple with a splash of Romancing the Stone! Harmon gives us Kit, the disappointing son of world famous explorers, ivory tower bound due to epilepsy and his nemesis, former step brother, perfect son/grandson, Ethan. Due to Kit's curiosity with an Aztec crown (come on, we all want to try on tiaras, crowns!), he finds himself on an rollicking fish out of water adventure in the Mexican jungle with Ethan being his usual perfect self. Along the way we meet Ethan's ex and his friends who for some reason know a lot about Kit! Through the jungle, Kit deals with spiders, waterfall fun, jaguars, and seeing Ethan through different eyes. There is sorrow, joy, scary times, smexy times, just all around a great read. I really hope there will be a second and absolutely last adventure!

The First and Last Adventure of Kit Sawyer
I really enjoyed Kit and Ethan's story. SE Harmon has given us an enemy to lovers story, with a whole lot of history between these two, plenty of action, and some magical moments. For anyone who was ever fascinated by the likes of Indiana Jones etc searching for lost treaures with the bad guy trying to swoop in and steal the day, and the battle to save precious history from being destroyed... and and MM romance fan, I really think that you would enjoy this

Loved it
Loved the cover, loved the title, and loved Kit and Ethan. Good characters, good supporting characters, and the interesting story kept me turning the pages for more. The story had just a wee hint of the supernatural. It doesn't go too much detail of the supernatural or get bogged down with mystery but stays entertaining.
