I have been a type one diabetic for the last 26 years, and lost all of my site leaving me completely blind six years ago from diabetic retinopathy. This talking glucometer is everything I could have wanted. It is an excellent deal, and works great! Speech is extremely clear, and I love the three different volume settings. It's pretty neat that it also speaks in English, French, Spanish and Arabic. Highly recommended for low site or complete blindness, or just the extra comfort of hearing your glucose number out loud.

My mom had this meter 10 years ago and loved it. It is easy to use. Accurate. Great price. No coding needed. Love that it talks to you. Easy to set up. The strips that go with it are a good price too.

I did a personal comparison of meters including Nova Max, Trueresult, Freestyle lite, Contour, One Touch ultra mini, Accu-chex, Embrace talking meter, Relion Prime, and Prodigy talking. My test was for 10 days and I took blood once a day for each meter (all tests were in the morning - fasting). I saw a lot of difference in the readings and judged my results from ease of use, price, result continuality, Of these meters the Prodigy was my second favorite behind the Freestyle lite. The advantages of the prodigy over the others it speaks your results, the test strips are cheaper than all the others except the Relion. and the numbers seamed to stay in a range it should be in. I am being treated for type 2 diabetes, since Spring of 2018. I have been using my original Prodigy AutoCode, Blood Glucose Monitoring System for 2 1/2 years. November 10, 2020 my meter would still read properly, but then went immediately into setup / learning mode after the correct analysis was displayed for a split second. Which meant after each reading I would have to remove the back cover and enter the correct information. . So I ordered a replacement Prodigty AutoCode glucose monitor from Amazon, on the same day, I received my new replacement meter the very next day, Wednesday, November 11, 2020. The reason I needed a quick delivery was that I am now on Insulin and require accurate reading prior to administering my insulin shot. When I went to register my replcement meter fo warranty, I discovered that it has a limited Lifetime Warranty. I will be contacting the manufacturer about replacing or repairing my original Prodigy. Follow up on Prodigy customer service telephone call. Conclusion: They are sending me a free replacement glucose meter. This way I will have a backup on hand. Thank you Prodigy! November 18, 2020 I received my replacement meter from Prodigy, I used Prodigy control Solution Low for a new capillary blood test strips and it registered @ 55 mg/dl midway between my two ranges 35-85 mg/dl printed on my new container of test strips.
