A brilliant light bulb with remote controllable colour temperature setting
This light bulb is exceptionally brilliant (in both senses) for non-flash photography without an umbrella by being able to set both light level and colour temperature with its included remote control. Ideally suited to non-flash portrait photography. It can be used for broader illumination without the need for either a diffusion or reflective umbrella . It will be essential however to set a higher digital camera's ISO setting to enable exposure times less than 1/25th second.

good "daylight" balanced high power E14 light bulbs
LED lights are very useful for energy efficiency - but it is hard to source high powered ones that output more than 40-60watt equivalent. This is fine for table lights or chandelier type lights where low outputs per bulb are all that is needed -----.....but there are several reasons why 150 watt equivalent output is important. One example is single bulb traditional ceiling lights, the other is photography. For architecture or estate agent photography you can replace e14 lights with these in a room's light fittings and illuminate a room with light balanced to match outside light. The other is for "continuous modelling" lights in light modifiers such as soft boxes and umbrellas.Pros ✅ I found that these are 24 watt with 84% efficiency - very bright and easily equivalent to my 150 watt halogens.Using a colour matcher, the rated 5700k is a good estimate for the current output - but remember these will likely "yellow" as they age. This is way better than the "fluorescent" alternatives. So no gels are needed for balancing colours with flash or midday light. As a continuous light source alone in a pair with umbrella reflectors they are great for "head and shoulders" portraits. For longer distances I have found that they are good modelling lights to help plan modifiers and angles for strobe lighting. They run much cooler than halogens. They do start quick and don't buzz or flicker.Cons ❌ They are efficiency rated F. This is no issue in photography - but for building lights where use is prolonged, paying more for A/A+ rated bulbs makes sense long term.OVERALL - these bulbs match the spec's on the box. Time will tell if the expected lifespan is matched !

Neewer in control
I’ve been using them in my friend’s makeshift home studio and they’re bright! Even in a Westcott umbrella with diffuser or Elinchrom deep octa with diffuser, these still put out decent amount of light. Of course not as bright as flash can get but for something that’s constant, they’re bright.I have seen brighter ones, but then then the models or clients tend to squint, thus adding further issues. I’ve used these myself for photography, though my friend has been testing them for videography. Her newer camera handles higher ISO better, so though these lights are not super bright for videography, she can push the ISO in her camera without too much noise.Brightness is one thing, these lights are very accurate. I normally use a grey card before a session and then balance in Light Room later. With these bulbs, they only deviate a percent or two from neutral grey this not requiring to check right away and editing settings first or if you forget.Of course as a bulb ages and accuracy is lost so then then more attention will be needed to grey balance but for now, no issues. The quality is fabulous, seem very robust to handle unlike old flash tubes and not too worried when transporting. Neewer keeps making great value products for us small time artists.

LED replacement for 150W incandescent.
Got this to replace a 35 Watt 2285 lumen E27 CFL bulb that hangs from the centre of a high ceiling in a smart modern white globe in a room at work. The CFL had dulled a bit but still seemed ok until I replaced it with this. So much brighter! I was a bit unsure if the 5700K colour would be ok but it is, with no hint of the blue you generally get with 6500K bulbs, which I hate.Although not cheap compared with 2 lower powered bulbs, for anyone seeking a bulb equivalent to 150W incandescent this is ideal provided the colour suits ok. For photography this colour is what you want.

Good value but I wish these were more energy efficient.
I have a small studio, it's mobile so it's either in my garden office or garage. I have an umber of lighting setups and these two lights which ae very bright are a great addition to allow daylight style images. I prefer LED and these, are large but do throw our sufficient light when required. The light from the bulbs is very pleasant and at a good level.Certainly worth the expenditure.
