This is a great little radio with a wide operating area as far as bands.

This is a very interesting radio.The BAD, so far: 1) Very poor documentation (the battery has a usb port on the bottom, but nothing about the radio even mentions or shows this. To enable the VFR/Mem button, you have to first boot the radio with the number 2 key pressed, but you only find this out on an obscure web forum.) 2) The radio is quite small, and the buttons and other controls are cramped and the menus are counter-intuitive. If you have large fingers, look elsewhere.The GOOD, and the INTERESTING: 1) It seems to be sturdily built. 2) It seems to transmit on one band while receiving on the other. I have to test this further, by talking to a satellite. 3) It seems to have good sensitivity and selectivity, but I need to test this more. 4) I don't know how they're able to market this radio in the USA, because it transmits not only on VHF/UHF, nor only on GMRS or MURS, but throughout the 136-174MH and 400-512MH ranges. It puts out 8W on UHF, which exceeds the GMRS rules for an HT. The antenna is removable, again breaking the rules for a GMRS/FRS HT. I need to measure the harmonics, to make sure I'm transmitting a clean signal!

My favorite HT. Works on GMRS too, right out of the box.

Very capable radio with great features and really good audio. My radio came unlocked so I didn’t have expand the frequencies in CHIRP. I would definitely recommend this radio.
