Please see photo. The nut is from a Makita 125mm sized angle grinder. The socket wrench is indeed 12.5mm, i.e. 1/2 inch square drive type of socket, but is far too small for use with a common size angle grinder.

Can be made to work on standard size angle grinder
Its to small for a standard grinder plate but can be made to work by using one of the pins in one hole and wedging the other against the outside diameter of the plate. Used it this way on impact gun and worked ok. So not a total loss.

This socket does not fit a standard angle grinder. It’s far too small.
