There are a lot of extremely good quality journals / notebooks available especially if you use fountain pens and want to avoid bleedthrough and feathering. Rhodia and Clairefontaine are great for journals in my opinion and considerably superior to Leuchterm or the over-rated Moleskin. I have been using the Maruman Mnemosyne A4 for a few years for note taking and work and this will remain my notebook of choice probably for life. These classy Japanese notebooks reek of both class and elegant design with lovely understatement. A joy to use. I was so happy to finally find the harder to procure A5 spiral notebooks which have the full functionality of the A4's but in a smaller package. Gorgeous.

Reasonably fountain pen friendly with smooth cream paper.I am now reminded that I don't like wire-bound books and don't find pages that tear out very useful. I also prefer simple grids, without added text for headings, etc. Will not work for me as I need my books bound and for future reference. Will probably use for incidental writing that I can toss away. Expensive for that, though.

Mnemosyne ist gut, keine Frage. ABER - es fallen Extragebuehren an!!! Ich musstebei der Post (eine Filiale in Wien) eine Gebuehr von 7.98Euro zusaetzlich entrichten! Der ausgeschilderte Preis wurde davor schon vom Konto abgebucht. Kann nur vermuten, dass es sich um Zollgebuehren handelt. Es pickt ein Zettel auf'm Kuvert mit einem Eurosymbol und dem Titel: "Drittland-Importsendung". (Paket wurde in japan bei japan Post aufgegeben). Vielleicht ist ja irgendwo nachzulesen auf amazon.at und wurde von mir ueberlesen, aber ok;Das es nicht anderen genauso geht, schreibe ich dieses feedback und vergebe 1 Stern. Hab andere Rezensionen gar nicht gelesen, sorry also, sollte das schon jemand vor mir gepostet haben.

The paper in this book is super fountain-pen friendly, I have a jinhao x750 that feathers and bleeds on EVERYTHING but the big boys, so it's going to have to be rhodia, tomoe river, or maruman for me. What can I say? The rules are faint gray, not intrusive at all, it's pretty ink resistant even with the wettest pens and wateriest inks, ans it's durable and just the right size for my particular jacket pocket, excellent notebook. I also like the fact that the pages are perforated, though I do wish it had a pocket... but it's not exactly a given for this style notebook, so I wouldn't take off a star for that.All of this being said, as with any notebook being used with a fountain pen, I'd recommend a sheet of blotting paper large enough to cover an entire page if you absolutely want to avoid ink transference to the opposing pages, but that's not unique to this notebook, it's just part of the game.

かっこ良くて、質が高く、ずっと形が変わらず、比較的どの文房具屋さんでも買えるノート。そんな条件で探してたどり着いたのがこのノートです。海外の高級ノートも条件に当てはまりますが、できれば日本製のものを買い続けたいので。毎年いろいろな種類のノートが発売されますが、ニーモシネには同じ形を販売し続けて欲しいものです。

One star for page and cover durability.One star for shipping/delivery/not bent or destroyed.Two stars for (paper quality) not letting my Fountain Pen's ink bleed through the paper!One star for Fountain Pen compatibility.I had purchased this book so that it could be my journal with which I would write in with my fountain pen (Edison Pen Co. -Beaumont). The nib i use is not a flat one which is used for calligraphy but one that is used for normal writing, and it is on the smaller size, might be fine (F). The pen writes very well in this book with no bleed so far as I can tell.I will defiantly buy this again if I need another journal.

The paper is nice and smooth. I've written on it with my fine nibbed VP, with a variety of inks and have not had any problems. As far as keeping daily logs and task lists I like this notebook the best of the ones I've tried. The top of the page has a small section for date and then a section for topic. No bleedthrough, and slight sheening with some inks. Dry time is on the faster side for quality paper.
