I have been getting this in a smaller bottle. There was some cost savings by buying the bigger bottle. I refill my little bottle and it stays on the kitchen table and goes on everything.

This aji powder is tasty and goes well with a variety of dishes. It is not very spicy like I expected but it is flavorful. The bottle contains a lot of powder and is a good value. I would order again.

I never thought I’d use chili powder so much as an adult. This one smells and tastes great.

Freshness - Ordered October 2024 - Dated best by July 2026 This comes with a to sided flip top. One side has holes to shake some out and the other a slot to pour some out or to use a small measuring spoon. Under the cover is a seal to preserve freshness that you remove to open it the first time I love to try new seasoning/spices on fresh salmon. So, I put some on salmon and cooked it in the microwave. Salmon probably isn't the best use of the Chili but it' a great seasoning. There is a big chili flavor that really stand out but the heat is more on the mild side. This really lets the flavor stand out. This would be great blended with other seasoning, or to add to vegetarian chili or chili with meat.

I'm in a cooking rut, and getting new and interesting spices helps turbo-charge finding and trying new recipes. I have a Peruvian-style ground turkey chili to try out that calls for this spice, though I might have to reduce the amount the recipe calls for, as a small taste of this was a little closer to cayenne than paprika, mentioned as partial substitutes for this pepper. A pleasant warm heat. The top of the bottle is nice - has both shaker and scoop option, and the spice was full up to the top, no obvious settling here. The fine grind will make it easier to disperse into a stew rather than chunkier flakes. Next up is using it as a spice rub for chicken, though I'll bet it'd be fabulous on some baked tofu as well. Looking forward to a spicy winter of experiments!
