Ariel is great
I think most people are buying this for Ariel, so here's what you should know about her figure:1) She has one of the best face sculpts of the character I have ever seen. Like, Barbie has been failing at this face *for years* and McFarlane nailed it on the first attempt.2) She's much larger than the other two figures - not just because of the tail, but because she is physically scaled up. She's more on par with the other McFarlane figures like DC and Spawn in scaling. I have no idea why they did this, but I am not complaining.3) The color on the tail might be right for the game, but it's wrong for Ariel. In the film, she had what was basically an aqua-toned lower half. This is more... snake or vine green. It's not horrible, and certainly Ariel has been depicted with a tail this color before. But it's not her best look.Overall, though, yes, this is worth $40 for Ariel.

Disney fantasy
Only way to get Ariel is this set, she is in a 7" scale while the others are smaller.

Is it worth it?
For the price? Probably not, unless Ariel’s your favorite like myself. Ariel is the largest figure and presumably the most important in the pack, and has the most articulation. Her arms have elbow joints, ball-joint shoulders, hip swivel, and even a flexible tail.. that’s more than the others.. Belle is fragile as her arm broke off just trying to get her to hold her staff. Mulan also doesn’t have much articulation, either. No leg joints, and her outfit’s design is too clunky. They’re mostly just decoration next to Ariel. The only thing that saves it is boiling down to having Ariel being able to wield Mulan’s sword or Belle’s staff in place of her own spear, if you so choose. At most, you’re just buying the Ariel action figure with potential accessories. It’s 60/40.

Warrior Ariel
I bought this just to get a hold of warrior Ariel and I'm not disappointed. She's a great action figure!

The most disappointing McFarlane Toys set to date
I was looking forward to getting this set, and was ecstatic to get it on sale for around $25. A 7-inch tall battle mermaid and a mini badass Mulan? Yes, please!Unfortunately, the 5-inch figures aren't very articulated! They aren't like the Avatar: The Last Airbender 5-Inch figures that have a respectable amount of articulation, these things are lumps from the waist down! What a rip off.Speaking of ripping off, Belle's hands both ripped off when I tried turning them. Horrible.Ariel is the star here, but the articulation is limited as well. The tail is actually a big flexible wired piece, it can be bent enough to create some interesting poses, but I feel like it should have a thinner shell to let it flex even more.Ariel's hair is two big soft lumps of plastic glued together so there's a big hollow space between. This keeps it lightweight, but not poseable at all. It's no wonder no one wanted to touch this set with a 10-foot fishing pole, the quality is terrible.

It’s cool but
I was super excited to get this and was very careful of taking out each character. But while trying to place Ariel in the sand, her hand broke off very easily. Then while trying to the stick in Belles hand, her hand also broke off easily. Also, I found it very difficult to move the arms on all of them. I have a Jack Sparrow of Mirrorverse and not as difficult to move his arms. I also noticed there was no trading cards in the package, unlike the other toys/sets, they come with the trading cards. Cute toys but be very, very careful handling them.
