I purchased these socks because my cardiologist recommended that I get compression stockings for POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome). These were the only ones I could find that were moisture-wicking, got good reviews and came in black and other cute colors/patterns. I’ve been tremendously satisfied with these socks! The material is soft, comfortable, breathable and truly wicks moisture. My feet stay warm and dry all day. The level of compression is effective without cutting off circulation in my legs and feet. I also like that these socks are fairly thin, so I can comfortably wear them under all different types of shoes. I’ve had them for three years, and they still look brand new despite washing and drying them hundreds of times. They are very high quality socks, especially for such a good price.

For approximately 4 years, I've worn a variety of different brands and styles of compression knee highs, and compared to the MANY others I have put on in this size and with the compression stated, these were MUCH harder to put on and pull off. However, that might mean they do a better job of pushing up the fluid in legs to be recirculated. So for that reason, you might want them and like them. If you don't have strong arms or are stiff with arthritis, I would not suggest these - even though you could use you sock-put-on device to put them on, then you might not be able to get them off. They are neither smooth nor rough, but in between. They are medium thickness - not as thin as men's dress socks, and not as thick as sports or cheap compression socks. They are as pictured. I hope this is enough information to help you make your decision. They go on easily. Look good and provide just enough compression to make them wearable every day.

I am 200 pounds, 5 foot 7 woman who wears a Men's size 10 W shoe.I got the L/XL in purple. They worked great, my legs felt so much better and I didn't think about them all day. It is really fun to have something that works and is cute as well.Money well spent! I put them on my birthday wish list as well hoping to get more!
