Excellent Decodable book for emergent readers
If you’re thinking about buying a decodeable reader get this book!!!!! It is so hard to find good truly decodeable readers for kids with dyslexia who are learning to read. This book is hands down the best resource I’ve come across that kids can actually sound the words out as they are learning to read. I’m so grateful to have found this book and can’t recommend it enough!

This actually works!!
My child is 4 not in school yet I bought this to help him get started learning words and how to eventually read. He’s already recognizing words and we’ve been using the book for over a week now! My 6 year old also uses this to actually read and it helps him because they’re short stories and it’s easier for him to comprehend the story as he’s reading. Definitely recommend!!

Poor Sample
The sample of this book looked hopeful. I was shopping for books with CVC words only. This book even says that it is for dyslexic children. My dyslexic child has meltdowns if he encounters words that he has not yet been taught to decode. The very first story throws the word 'with' in. Then the vowels start going from short to long and back again. The sample only has table of contents. I would have appreciated a refund on this purchase. Unfortunately I made this purchase and the next biik in the series on our way out of the door on our way to vacation. I was planning on using this as reading practice on vacation. My child has memory/retention issues so I thought that a new set if books for vacation would be a treat.

typos
My kid who is struggling with dyslexia found the few typos incredibly frustrating. I also did not like that by the end the of the first unit “short vowel sounds”, the passages included more complex sounds such as “ou”, which is not following an Orton-Gillingham approach. It’s hard enough finding decodable text at her level without claiming it is only short vowels then having passages in that section with skills she hasn’t learned yet.

Book has errors.
A little disappointed. Only on the second lesson and there is a glaring error. Even my kid knew it was incorrect. Hope this is a one off…Also, advertised as being in colour and it’s grey scale. Spend your money somewhere else.
