This hat is made of quality materials. Own a few bucket and boonie hats. This is the best bucket/boonie that I have. I like that it is 45% polyester since cotton bucket hats tend to shrink even when you hand wash them. Material is thick enough that not much sun comes in at the top. Brim is a little over 2 inches. Brim is not stiff and stays up. I like that it has a strap since I have lost a few hats putting them down and then forgetting them. Ordered a size small/med. My hat size if 7 1/4 and it just fit so recommend the large if your head is 7 1/4 or more. Going to order a few more in the large size.

I am bald and have to keep my head protected. The S/M fits perfect on my 7 1/4 size head. It looks good, even after being rolled up in mt backpack. Light weight and cool. perfect brim size.
