i didn't think i needed one
a friend recommended this for 3 reasons 1st its makita (i only use ryobi tools) 2nd i was spending hours emptying a hot tub and 3rd it was a bargain at the price, well i was reluctant but was sick of spending 4hrs+ emptying a hot tub this beast emptied it in 15 mins from full freeing up the rest of my day to do other projects i would 100% recommend this to any one with a hot tub for emptying it.

months of abuse and still going strong
This pump has replaced a clarke one which broke after only a few months, great design from makita as always, really like the adjustable height of the switch. Very happy so far

good pump
Pump was very useful for draining excess water out of an area dug out for a new patio over the winter before it could be installed, doesn't drain until waters at a certain level will still leave a small amount of water behind but I believe a different type of pump is required to drain completely overall very good and worked in dirty water for 4 months no issues running after every heavy rain

Fantastic pump
Having been flooded for the first time in 2023, we needed a pump to keep groundwater out of our property. This Makita pump proved a property saviour. I am very happy with its performance; it is great value. Ideal for the domestic market.

Bought this to empty our hot tub, before it use to take hours to empty, now with this pump takes about 7 mins, another well built makita product

If hooking up via the pipe threads, make sure you know it's 1 1/2 inch size (not literal size)
Using it as a replacement for a failed AMA pump.
