Worked flawlessly on an odd brand of battery -- POP.
I purchased this charger to charge a 12 volt cordless tool battery. The brand name was POP and I could not find a charger with that brand name (I suspect it was a product offering of Harbor Freight Tools). I took a chance on this one and it has worked flawlessly. I can also use it for an older Makita 9.6V NiCad battery which is added bonus.

What's most important to know
So I've had a Makita cordless drill for many years, along with the charger that came with. As the Ni CD batteries have gone bad I was able to replace them with another Ni CD battery. Recently I ordered new batteries, but could only find Ni MH. The didn't charge in my existing charger, so I thought they were bum batteries. Then I read somewhere that Ni CD chargers don't necessarily work on Ni MH batteries. So I went on Amazon and found this charger that said it would work for either kind. Sure enough it charges both the old and new batteries. And my trusty Makita cordless drill is good for another 25 years.

Instructions Are Almost Non-Existant, But It Works -
To put it "mildly" (and to answer my own previous question), this charger will charge a Makita DS9000 battery. The "instruction" sheet (see attached) states: "Use only the battery chargers listed on the accessories page." There is NO accessories page. The box has a second bar code label on to of the original which has the model number of FP1804-F. The bottom line is that it works, by magic - maybe.
