Dimensions you need to know, to use these standoffs
This standoff is intended to be pressed through a hole, drilled into a supporting material like sheet metal or sheet plastic: the supporting material shouldn't be any thicker than 0.060 inches (1.5 mm), or the spring retainers will not engage. The ideal drill hole in the supporting material is about 0.169 inches (4.3 mm).Your Printed Circuit Board (PCB) presses onto the "spike" end of the standoff: the PCB thickness shouldn't be any thicker than 0.063 inches (1.6 mm), or the spring retainers will not engage. The ideal hole size in the PCB, to accept the "spike" is about 0.130 inches (3.3 mm).The 8mm spacing height in the product description, is the space between the supporting material and the PCB when it is assembled and pressed together.

good mounts
I used a stepper drill bit for my PCB board to allow the tip of these mounts to squeeze through and they snapped in well.Since i was using them as standing mounts I flatten the curved top caps with a high grain sheet, leveling was off, but nevertheless there was enough material to work with.
