yes, it will require your own hose connection for your propane tank.

Q: Are the cast iron cooking grates coated with enamel?

They are not, but they appear to be quality cast iron. I seasoned mine with Pam Barbecue spray which elimated sticking and minimized rust.

Q: My bbq flame output is very low. tank is full. even tried the extra tank which is new. still low output. what is it?

You probably shut tank off with valve on tank. You need to first turn off grill with knobs. The tank needs back pressure to fully open. It’s a safety feature.
