Hi the discription states it can be filled at the petrol station can someone from the UK confirm this please

Bognor Regis UK.....yes it can. The lid hole is the same size as a standard 5Lt UK fuel can, and subject to thread comparability, a bendy spout from a standard 5Lt UK fuel can will fit into the Fuel Friend can. I bought several of these for use riding my small scooter long distances, and I fill them at UK fuel garages directly from the pump petrol nozzle. I DID buy the fuel-friend short-spout too, but due to the angle of my scooter tank filler cap, if I use fuel from one of the fuel-friend cans on-the-road I tend to use a standard long UK can spout. The cans don't leak on the scooter journies, I do my best to keep them upright, but they don't leak. MY CANS ARE **GENUINE** FUEL-FRIEND CANS THAT CAME DIRECT FROM GERMANY, WITH THE NAME MOULDED INTO THE PLASTIC. THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS 'A CHEAP ONE'. BUY A RED ONE, NOT A CLEAR ONE, AS ONLY RED ONES ARE *ACCEPTABLE TO THE EYES* OF THE PETROL STATION ATTENDENT !!! THEY ARE MARKED AS BEING CERTIFIED FOR FUEL STORAGE.

Would it be okay in a backpack?

Only if you are careful when filling and do not splash on the outside wall. And all filled HDPE canisters start to smell after a few weeks, that is absolutely normal. But you can do it freshly filled for a couple of weeks. And if you are using our model "EXTRA STRONG", still a little longer.

What are the dimensions of this item?

Not sure easily fits in bk pack holds £2 worth of petrol that could get u out of trouble

Would it be cheaper to fill with whisky?

The goal should not be cheap but inexpensive... ;)
