Perfect for my setup

For £599 these beauties are a steal, in fact at £999 they are top notch.Nicely shaped and finished in a black gloss they look the part. Sonically they are wonderful, stereo placing is A1 and voices and instruments are tight. I replaced 12 year old AE series 1's which I loved but these are up a level.

Tested (and bought) these speakers with genesis live for rock, quo unplugged for mixed instruments and a sky album for classical type instruments. Due to room layout the speakers are either side a large 3 seat sofa and not in front of me , normally that would be a no no but it works for me. When sat in armchair i am 8 feet from left speaker and the right speaker is 15 feet diagonally away from me. Despite that i dont get an "overall" sound in the room , i can deffinatly hear something different happening in the right speaker. Anyway to the sound , having gone from just a tweeter and bass all i can say is the sound is amazing.The bass is good without being boomy. I would reccomend you buy the most expensive cable you can afford. They are used with a pro ject cd player and amp , not the amp on this site , the more expensive one.UNPACKING TIP... lay the box down and cut the cellotape to see which way is up , now stand the box vertical , get hold of the bottom foam and shuffle the unit out, DO NOT be tempted to get hold of the speaker you might put your hand through a cone.
