Superb Skateboard!
This skateboard is just superb. It is clearly extremely well built and very very sturdy. The weight is really heavy, and the product materials seem to be of an exceptional quality. The wheels are really large, wide, and extremely strong, and have excellent manoeuvrability ~ they are made from a very high-grade (very) dense rubber-type material, rather than hard plastic (which the wooden style boards have); these wheels are of a superb quality in comparison. The wheel mounts are big, and so sturdy. They are attached to the board with huge metal bolts, and seem to have a very high quality mechanism, which supports the manoeuvrability of the system. The actual board itself, is made of a very high-grade dense rubber material, which looks as though it will withstand a great deal of long term use.Kids no longer want the huge wooden type skateboards, instead preferring the ‘original style’ which are smaller, slimmer, and have the raised ‘kick lip’ at the rear, which enables the rider to bring the board to a halt, and to perform those tricky moves! This skateboard certainly looks as though it should have cost much more than it did~it almost screams “QUALITY”.This was purchased for a 13 stone, 6’2” 14 year old lad, and is definitely strong and sturdy enough to take his weight, and cope with his skateboarding ‘tricks’.It looks fantastic, and it’s overall quality far outweighs my initial expectations when I purchased it!I’d definitely say, don’t hesitate to buy this skateboard if you are looking for brilliant quality at a reasonable price.Delivery was super speedy, and it was really well packaged.Having said all of that, it is clear from my terms and language, that I am no expert (far far from it in fact), so you must check-out all of the Product Details/Dimensions/Materials etc. yourselves, as I’m merely going on what I can see and feel! But it looks damn good to me. Oh, and one other thing, I haven’t actually tested it (well, my son hasn’t) as it is a gift for Christmas, so of course I can’t comment on the longevity of the performance, parts or product materials. However, if I am able to pop down an addendum in a couple of months time, I will fill you in on how this fabulous-looking skateboard fares after being ‘hammered’ by my lad, okay!

A solid board that will give years of fun
This review is coming a couple of years after purchase so it is based on use. We first bought a 22" for my 12 year old and it was such a hit that we bought a 27" for him to grow into (or maybe for me). Both boards are still going strong and have not shown any signs of ageing. The deck is sturdy and easily carries the weight of an adult. It feels stable and the the adjustable trucks give you the ability to change the degree of turning nimbleness as you move from beginner to confident rider. The area we ride in has plenty of tree debris, pebbles and cracks and the wide wheels have been essential in keeping us rolling smoothly. The bearings have also held up with the wheels turning as well as when we bought the boards (to be fair we do not ride when its wet which has limited the risk of grit). All in we have had many hours of fun cruising with complete confidence in the quality and performance of the board.

Got a kid who wants a skateboard? ...
Get them one of these!Good, sturdy skateboard that's great for older kids and adults. And if they only use it for 2 days (like my kid) you won't be as annoyed at yourself as if you'd bought the £200 one that they begged you for, promising that they'd 'ride it every day & do any extra jobs around the house to pay for it' ...This one will do just fine.

Moody pre-teen approved
My daughter had been requesting a penny board for cruising as her cheap skateboard wasn’t cutting it. After doing some research I found the 27” probably more suited to her needs for the additional stability and control. It’s not the brand she wanted but is really happy with it. Not one little complaint. It seems solid and can take my weight without any flex so fingers crossed it lasts. My only gripe is the variation in pricing depending on the colours. £14.99-£44.99 difference based on colour alone is stupid.

Great board. Real value for money.
A great board. I got it from amazon at a very good price and I am impressed by the build quality of this skateboard. It is really stable at high speed and the wheels are smooth. I've run over quite a few stones and there are no chips in the wheels. My daughter has a much more expensive brand of plastic skateboard and although that is a fabulous board, the Ridge holds it's own well against it. The 27" deck feels solid and I like the bulk of this board compared to a 22". Despite the extra size, it is still reasonably easy to carry for long periods if you have to. There are so many positive reviews about Ridge boards and I can see why now.

initially deciding spending around £100 on one would be a potentially huge waste of money as I'm an absolute beginner skater
I'd been teetering whether or not to get Penny style board, initially deciding spending around £100 on one would be a potentially huge waste of money as I'm an absolute beginner skater. I had a regular skateboard before, which I'll be honest, was a Robot Wars one from Argos, that I never got on with as a child, it just had no momentum. Anyway, fast-forward to my late teens and I really want to start skating around to places like Uni etc. but wasn't sure whether this plastic cruiser board would be my sort of thing. How wrong I was. This board absolutely brilliant, I've had it for less than a day and I strongly recommend it! I started by loosening the trucks to make it turn a bit easier and off I went; the plastic board is really high quality, even in comparison to the more marketed Penny board, it's not too flexible but then it's not unforgiving on bumps by being too solid. The large wheels on it make it so easy to just push off and gain momentum, and it goes over bumps far easier than said Robot Wars boards. If your'e debating on getting a cheaper but quality built cruiser to skate with, this board will have you slaloming (I know that's not a word but it should be for this) around and have you hooked for more.
