ACANA Wholesome Grains Dry Dog Food Large Breed Adult Recipe 22.5lb Bag

Kaiser, our German Shepard, has been on Acana since day one with us. From age seven weeks old to present (2 yrs old) he has not had any issues with Large Breed Puppy and then transitioned over to Large Breed Adult. His stools are solid, and he has no digestive issues. Kai's coat is shiny and super soft due to his diet of Acana. We cannot recommend this Acana enough.

ACANA Wholesome Grains Dry Dog Food Large Breed Adult Recipe is my dog’s new favorite food. My 10 year old mixed breed dog has done so well on this food! I love that this recipe features fresh and raw ingredients animal ingredients with wholesome grains. It was easy to transition my dog to this food. He really seems to love the flavors. It makes me feel good to know that we are feeding him such a high quality food.

Acana and Orijen are both made by Champion Foods. After learning this, my wife and I asked our vet about switching our puppy from Orijen to Acana. They said what we noticed - both brands have a great reputation, and minimal recalls, and the ingredients are almost identical. Acana doesn't have AS good of an ingredient list, obviously, but it's still great. We made the switch, our puppy didn't even blink an eye. He's 10 months old now, we switched him 2 bags ago, and he's just as eager to chow down at feeding time as before. So glad we found this seller on Amazon, because our local pet store carried the Orijen large breed food, but not the Acana version. We have 2 picky cats in our house, and we switched them over from Orijen to Acana as well after having success with our puppy. They're on their 3rd bag now, and they're as happy as can be. They noticed the change, but after sniffing their bowls for about 5-10 seconds, both were chowing away. We're saving like $50 a month on pet food after making this switch! Thank you Champion Foods for releasing a more budget-friendly brand of your superb Orijen foods!

My Shepard loves this food dry or mixed up. Shes super healthy and her coat is awesome. The size for a bigger dog is great and its a great price for the quality of the food.

I wanted to leave a review because my experience with Acana ended up being pretty rough for my dog. After switching to it, he started acting uncomfortable after meals. Pacing, restless, and always going to the back door right after eating, which I now realize was stomach pain. Thought he was just being annoying and wanted to play ball. His stools got harder and he would strain, and a few months later he ended up developing bloat and needing emergency surgery. His recent bloodwork also showed high eosinophils, which points to GI inflammation or a food intolerance. Once we looked back at the timeline, everything lined up with when he started this food. Every dog is different, but for mine, Acana was way too rich and caused ongoing stomach issues that eventually turned extremely serious. Like my dog would have been dead if I didn’t rush to the ER. I’m sharing this so others can watch for early signs and avoid what we went through.

My dog ate it until he was about 18 months. ( I think this was the recommendation on ACANA’s site) he is now on their large breed adult food. He had no issues transitioning between the 2. I appreciate the clean and wholesome ingredients. We wanted the best for our boy 🤎 he is now a 90+ lb choc lab

I think this is great dog food for large breeds. My dog enjoyed the taste, she loves chicken and turkey. As a dog owner, I liked the ingredients of the food, and that there are no artificial flavors. colors, or preservatives. I am always looking for food that helps with joints (as a golden retriever owner) and digestion. This food helped with both. Highly recommend this to any dog owner! We did receive this from #hometester, but it is my honest review.

Cost is good but quality of contents is just fair. Try Orijen their other product for quality despite the price difference. I use a little of both to cut cost of all Orijen feeding.
