My daughter raved about this book when her Year 1 class looked at it at school, and so I have used this book with my Reception class for the past 9 years. Each year, children notice something I have never seen before. Such is the depth and detail of these illustrations that there is always something new to explore. Wordless picture books are incredible for inference, prediction, imagination... And this is one of the best.

Bought this for working with deaf children. Loved it so much I bought the trilogy straight away for further work and for going through with my own (hearing) kids. The art is amazing, you pick it new details every time, the quality it great. We go through the books and make up stories and dialogue from different perspectives: "What if the hero is actually a villain? " "Let's have the sidekick as the main character " The intended story is really good, adults enjoy it, but these books are open ended.

All went well from purchase to arrival. Package well. A fabulous picture book, which will stretch a childs imagination.

I love love love this book and the trilogy. It's perfect to read with your own children as well as in school. Without words, the children can tell the story themselves using the beautiful illustrations and without any worry of reading/fluency/comprehension pressure. I can't recommend this book enough!

My daughter used this book at school and wanted to order it. It has no words and gives the child full control over the story, we have made many stories over many nights always slightly different. Really fun and creative idea to see your child's imaginative side.

What a treat! Journey is an amazing, beautifully illustrated, magical story. Don't we all wish to find that magic door to another world? Not only is the book full of little details for kids can discover, some of the pictures are simply breathtaking. I also love the strong female character. A good inspiration for little ones. We have 'read' it at least a hundred times, over and over again. Kids loved the idea of a magic crayon, re/discovering the magic drawings, the kingdom, waterfalls, bad soldiers, the main hero standing up for the bird...I could continue. Our kids (3 and 5) always call it 'the magic book'.

Such a lovely story - the nursery children really loved looking at the illustrations and could confidently talk about the story, characters, colours and how the coloured pencil leads to friendship! A great book - can’t wait to share the sequel with the children.

A história é contada por meio de desenhos simples mas ricos em detalhes, e nas primeiras vezes em que lemos, toda vez vimos uma coisa nova. Vale para aguçar a criatividade: cada um dos meus pequenos conta a história de um jeito diferente, do seu próprio jeito. Também é acessível às minhas filhas menores que têm quatro anos na data em que recebemos. É uma trilogia, então vale também comprar os outros, que continuam exatamente de onde o anterior parou. Perde uma estrela pela demora na entrega para o Brasil e por um dano superficial (uma espécie de risco) na capa traseira.

Journey is a book with no words, but full of exciting, gorgeous art, story telling art - the reader OR/AND the child can imagine and create the Journey. The Journey taker is a young girl, a bit like Lyra in Philip Pullman's triology, a successful young girl on a JOURNEY, solving problems, making decisions, being confident, and on a JOURNEY. The art is fabulous, just fabulous. And not only can you (reader) and child (listener) make up your own words to describe the heroine's Journey set out page by page, but you can do it in any language! There are no words, no right or wrong, just use your imagine, or the child will use his or her imagination, and travel on the Journey. Such a creative innovative way to entice children into the world of books. Loved it.

Fantástica historia, fantásticas ilustraciones… ideal para leerlo con niños pequeños y muy pequeños porque aprenden a leer las imágenes sin necesidad de saber leer. Da mucho juego para leer en familia.

I am a preschool teacher and this is the book that students keep asking me to “read.” There are no words - just stunning illustrations. The story is captivating.

Ich hatte mir die Mühe gemacht, auch ein Video zur Entstehung des Buches anzuschauen und wusste dann den Aufwand hinter den Zeichnungen wirklich zu würdigen. Das Buch ist ohne Text und lässt dadurch unbegrenzten Raum für Phantasie und immer wieder neue Geschichten. Die gezeichnete Welt entführt einen immer tiefer auf die Seiten des Buches. Nach nur einer Seite hat man das Gefühl, man hätte eine Weltreise hinter sich. Mein 4-jähriger Sohn hat auch schon viel Freude daran, selbst Geschichten zu erfinden und sich in den Escher-haften Gängen und Kanälen des Schlosses zu verlieren. Wundervoll und empfehlenswert.
