He loves coffee and loves bourbon and vanilla flavor so this was perfect for him
I got this as a Christmas gift for my brother in law. He loves coffee and loves bourbon and vanilla flavor so this was perfect for him. The coffee smelled great, but I gave it only 3 stars because it was whole beans, which could be my fault if I didn’t read that in the description, but I wish it was grinded. Also, it was an extremely small bag for the price. I had to end up adding some other things to his gift to make up for how small the bag of coffee was.

NECTAR OF THE GODS
I thought I astral projected for a moment it was so good. Very balanced in sweetness and strength.

Incredible flavor, unfortunate price
Four ounces does not go far, even using it sparingly brewing only a mug at a time. The flavor is incredible with many trace flavors that I expected would be overwhelmed by the comination of bourbon and vanilla, but were certainly discernible particularly in the long aftertaste. The whole beans appear to be a medium roast with no oily coating on the exterior. They have a slight glossy appearance that is desirable and indicates the beans are freshly roasted. The aroma is very heady.I ground the beans medium fine using a burr grinder. The aroma increased in intensity and became even more heady. I placed the grounds in doubled unbleached filters in a glass pour-over holder so no metal or plastic could interfere with the brew. I applied 199° filtered water 12 ounces heated in a glass vessel, again with no metal or plastic contact. My mug was pre-heatedI first tasted the coffee black. I could taste the bourbon and vanilla but also caramel, roasted chestnut, a spicy trace, all very pleasant. I then added two tablespoons of half & half, a level teaspoon of sugar to what was now 11 ounces of the coffee and the flavors were even more pronounced with cocoa and caramel with a buttery finish predominating.A truly impressive coffee but much too expensive for me

Excellent & Unique Flavor
This coffee tastes great. I used my burr grinder to grind the beans down fairly fine (but still in the "brew" coffee range) and then made a cup with my Keurig on the 10 ounce setting. Sometimes making a large cup results in weak flavor, but not so with this coffee. The resulting taste was bold and very unique, with the bourbon flavor being the most prominent but the vanilla giving it a little natural sweetness to balance the potentially harsh bourbon. It's accurately described as medium roast, with a nice rich body that darker roasts tend to have but still retaining a little of the brighter taste characterized by light roast. I love the well balanced flavor that is smooth enough to enjoy black (even if you tend to like cream and/or sugar) or with said creamers or sweeteners. The price point is pretty high so that I wouldn't make this my daily drink, but for an occasional treat that's really different and really good it's a winner. Excellent coffee!

What a waste
No where close to tasting what I expected. For how much you get, it's over priced. I will not order this one again. At least I can say I tried it.
