Introduction but lacks details
This book is plainly written and easy to understand. I finished it in two evenings. The book gives a brief overview of goat care and I found to be most useful in listing common ailments and diseases. The book also gave standards of the Nigerian Dwarf goat. The pictures were cute but not relevant to the chapters. It does not discuss the kidding process or milking at all.Overall, the book served more as an introduction and if you are not scared off from getting goats, get Storey's Guide to Raising Dairy Goats for an in depth read.If you only ever plan on having goats as a pet, this is probably enough to get you started but is lacking in regards to housing and feeding. Hoof structure and trimming diagrams would have been good to have.

This book was incredibly useful!
We bought this book since we're thinking about getting a goat as a family pet. Although this book is specifically about the Nigerian Dwarf Goat, I found it useful to learn more generally about goats as well, being a prospective new buyer. A good read overall, the book gave me a nice overview of what to expect when we finally get our new pet, and how to prepare for care and upkeep of the animal. I would definitely recommend reading this!

Great Beginner book on Nigerian Dwarf Goats
At first, I thought this book looked to simple for what I was looking for, however, I found I really enjoy reading it. This is a great manual to buy BEFORE you buy your goats. There were many tips and information to think about before buying your first goats. It is a great guidebook for those beginning or who have not had goats for a long time.

If you are thinking about raising Nigerians this is a great start
After having gone through the pains and trials of raising goats for some time I ran across this book. I so wish I had bought this before we ever got any of the goats. everything we had to learn the hard way was in this book. Admittedly there is more to raising these awesome animal, but even if you are just thinking about raising them read this first.

Not Useful, Save Your Money
Very basic information, as well as plenty of inaccuracies. As a ND goat owner, I thought I might learn some things about this breed that I wasn't aware of, beyond the basics of goat care, but I was very disappointed. The book doesn't go into any detail at all, and some of the information is not at all correct. The section on hoof trimming made me cringe...I have *never* planed my goats' hoofs, and certainly not until they bled! And the thought of a 60 lb goat drinking up to 6 gallons of water a day is just laughable.Unfortunately, I didn't realize the default display for reviews on Amazon was best reviews first. If I'd read past the first page of reviews I wouldn't have bought this book.

muy flojo
el contenido se puede escribir en un libro con la mitad de páginas. la información es muy escasa y de poca calidad científica. El libro se puede leer es 1 hora. Tiene fallos de edición y de uso de las fuentes tipográficas.
