Strong and well built umbrella
Refer to the wiki umbrella page for part names. When I was purchasing an umbrella I narrowed it down to three choices, this, the Wilson Double Canopy Unisex Umbrella, an the Nike Golf 2012 Umbrella. I can't say much about the Nike umbrella because I haven't owned it - reason for not purchasing because I wanted a double canopy version. The Wilson umbrella in comparison feels a lot cheaper and a lot less robust. It has slits in the shaft for the metal catch to hold the opening mechanism in place (both open and closed), which can occasionally pinch you if you're not careful. (I had a similar opening system in my previous umbrella which broke rendering it unusable so that was the reason for the new purchase). Also the umbrella support in the Wilson is minimal - only the stretchers hold the canopy together. In terms of size, both the Wilson and the PGA Tour Umbrellas are 62" but the PGA Tour is slightly smaller in diameter since it's more curved - whilst this makes it a little smaller, I think the increased durability compensates for it.For the PGA Tour umbrella, the runner is a lot larger; I can fit my whole hand on it when opening, and the canopy sort of has two layers of support - the main bit pictured in the item description, which is held together with a spring and also supported by the stretchers, making it strong. The easy open/close mechanism avoids pinches and does not have slits cut into the main shaft which would potentially weaken the device.Overall a very good umbrella, would highly recommend it.

Great product and superb price
I looked around quite a bit before deciding on this brolly - I was worried it was a bit too cheap compared to similar 30 quid products...however, its great. Really big for plenty of cover, solid construction with automatic pop out when you open it so be careful you dont take your mates eye out when you first open it on the golf course.....unless of course youre looking for that extra advantage to beat him......

Umbrella number 5 - But not why you think...
First: UK weather is not typically conducive to using an umbrella. However, when the winds aren't whipping through London corridors, this umbrella is amazing. It can handle most winds (certainly better than any other I've ever purchased) and has a large coverage area so that I'm not soaked AND neither is my backpack. So why 5? I lost one. A second was given away. The third was for a friend (who feels much the same way about not having another one). The fourth, after almost 3 years, lost the latching mechanism. But how many of us have a proper umbrella that lasts 3 years!!!!And now number 5.(And I love that I get to support the PGA with it. :)

Great cover when rain came
A sturdy lightweight brolly that covered me and my trolley and bag when the rain came . Fantastic performance and cost .

Very thin material
Seems a good umbrella for my golf, with the flange at the bottom of the handle grip it only just fits into my trolley umbrella holder with a bit of a wiggle. The auto release seems to work OK but the canopy material is a lot thinner than other named golf umbrellas I've had which makes me wonder if the price is justified. Time will tell if it stands up to the riggers of our Scottish weather??
