Scarlet Witch Vol. 1: Witches' Road Paperback – 19 July 2016

Brilliant comic, if you're a Scarlet Witch fan you need to get this.

Exactly what I ordered, great read

A mix between episodic stories and a building narrative, giving Scarlet Witch a long-overdue place in the Marvel universe as a hero rather than a maguffin. Especially pleased to see her get a nemesis of sorts. Different artist on each story; some hits, some misses, but the hits are more plentiful and well worth the less engaging stories. In conception, not a million miles away from Hellblazer at its best, though with a very different hero in the lead role.

Superb

Not that impressed.Wanda deserved her own series and almost any aspect of her character should work as a new direction, the multi-art styles was fine and I could accept the concentrating on her witchcraft whereas she is really kind of more than that but this just doesn't feel like the Wanda I know.The concept of dead companion Agatha Harkness is inspired but wasted so far - this reads more like DC's Zatanna and makes me pine for Gotham by Midnight but Marvel's magic is better served by Dr Strange.

I didn't find this entertaining at all. Dull. I didn't finish it.I have never seen Wanda stripped of excitement like this.This book is like Hellraiser fanfic.

I love the Scarlet Witch’s character and was excited when I unwrapped this Volume 1 on Christmas Day. I’m not sure it really lived up to expectations though.To start with the art, the book is stunning. The different artists give the book an inconsistent look but it’s actually the best thing about it. The Greek issue was probably my favourite: the colours were gorgeous and just everything about it was beautiful.Sadly, I just didn’t think the stories were as good as the art. The main problem for me was that the climax always felt the same: whatever happened, the Scarlet Witch just did a spell, which looked pretty but was ultimately boring to read. I wanted more from it and it just wasn’t there, which is a shame.So this one wasn’t for me. It looks good but I just didn’t find it interesting, and I don’t think I’ll be reading the rest of the series.
