I also thought that the remote didn't work. I called Amazon, but they made me speak to some sort of AI-powered machine which could not answer my question and essentially forced me to return the unit. However, when the second unit arrived, I found that its remote control didn't work either, which made me go back and read the directions more carefully: "Within 20 seconds after table lamp is plug on (sic), long press the power button on remote control to pair, when table lamp flashes 3 times means match successfully (sic)." When I followed those directions, the remote control worked perfectly.
