I've been living with window ACs for most of my life, and we never could afford to replace them regularly, so we kept the same one for decades. My 12 yr old AC tanked last summer, and I didn't have the money to replace it until this year. I probably could have found a decent window AC for a lower price, but I've been dealing with some pretty major health issues for the last few years, and our heating cost skyrocketed because I couldn't get it out of the window without passing out. I decided to get a "portable" AC this time to make things easier on me. It was an amazing decision. It's not very quiet (probably around what you'd expect from a window AC if you've ever had one), but that isn't really a downside for me, as it's still quieter than my last one. It took a while to get the tube attached at the back because of how my hands shake, and it came undone like six times before I caved and asked a family member to reattach it for me, and I haven't had a single issue with it so far (it fell out around twice a week before, and I haven't had anything happen in over two weeks now). It cools very quickly and keeps things cold once it hits there. It automatically stops and starts to maintain the room's temperature, and I can't really speak for how well it does that (my internal thermometer is nonexistent), I can say that it kicks off on cooler days and runs almost nonstop on really hot ones. It's also not very portable as it's attached to the tube that leads out the window, but it's better than nothing, and you can point it in a larger range of directions (if you're at the kitchen table and get up to cook you can completely turn the unit without having to take it out of the window). It has small handles on the side that are helpful while moving it, too, even if they aren't good for actually carrying it. The fan and dehumidifier modes are quieter than the regular AC, but still aren't particularly quiet. I don't use the fan very much on its own, but when I tested it it worked fairly well. When the AC is cool enough, it also goes from AC mode to just fan for a little while before shutting off the whole system. I haven't really used the dehumidifier at all because my body does significantly better with humid air, but if it works as well as the rest of the machine, I don't see anything going wrong with it. The remote is a little annoying because I have a hard time keeping track of it, and it needs to be pointed at the unit (think tv remote); it's a lot easier than risking passing out trying to counteract a hot or cold flash by changing it manually. Overall I think this is a good buy for anyone, but especially if you struggle with changing settings on an AC without a remote or can't handle the labor required to move a window AC unit every season.

Definitely worth it! Keeps the room fresh during this heat. A little noisy if you need to sleep in silence but it doesn’t bother me. It’s easy to install. I have a small window so I had to cut the plastic myself. Before this I bought a water based one and it was not worth it! Made the room very humid and this one is way more fresher. It has tubes to dispose water it makes however it doesn’t make a lot. I left it a whole month without disposing the water and it didn’t even fill a cup up :)

this little unit is great, no constant water draining and easy to move around, it is rather quiet and cools large rooms easily, love that it comes with a remote as sometimes im lazy ..also the timer is great for keeping the room from getting too cold, i love all the customizable settings, this is a great unit

Perfect for bedroom, or student room. Cools very nicely. Simple to use easy to put it dogether the window part ,May be you need to cut a small piece to fitt your window. I use the black sponge tipe strips also for air conditioners at bottom of your window helps .price was good and I can also bring it in another bedroom. Size is on smaller, Noise ok, doasnot keep you up,energy efficient. What more we need for smaller air conditioner with that price. Good over all. Doas the job. Simple as that.

This makes the second one I bought of this style. The first one leaked so bad. I applaud the Company because they gave me a full refund. NOW ON TO THIS ONE. It worked fine for a month. Now it wants to blow hot air out. This had good reviews. So I thought I would try this one. I feel that Amazon should give a person a 90 day window for returns on products such as these. Because this makes the second time I got a dud. MY ADVICE STICK TO THE WINDOW AIR CONDITIONERS. These are not worth the time or money.

I love this ac! It really works well, it keeps our living room and kitchen very comfortable. Very easy to install, not very noisy our box fans make more noise on medium and high. Only thing is it will switch from high to low power on its own. We noticed the temp change and it had switched from high to low. I slept with it on and heard it so this as well. BUT, that's been the only con and I can live with that. Hopefully our electric bill will be lower this summer

It is extremely loud compared to past AC units I've had. The exhaust tube is very short and has no protective screening or blocking method at the end, to stop birds and bugs etc. from going into the tube and the AC unit !! The unit also cycles on and off continually, like within seconds whenever it gets close to the set temp and this continues on and off when its at or close to the set temp.

its a great AC for my bedroom i had a window unit that would just vibrate all night making noises and switching to this one is night and day so relaxing and quiet and cools off the room quickly only thing that you will have to do during installation is put silicone outside around your window where the bracket goes for the exhaust other than that its perfect. on and that exhaust pipe that goes out the window puts off heat but that's expected. maybe wrap it with some installation from the hardware store or maybe you can get that from amazon.
