Great item cuts tool steel just fine
I love this setup. The best thing isn't even described in the spec sheet. It has a little metal insert at the front to raise the tip height so if you happen to have a smaller center height lathe you can remove this insert and it lowers the tip by about 4mm. Great stable cutter with good inserts. I was able to take good deep cuts at a high feed rate to satisfy the carbide tip without any chatter from the shank or tip.I'm making a ball turning from a Hemingway kit and cut all the tool steel and cast surfaces just fine with this leaving a nice finish.Definitely good value and I wouldn't really believe some of the 1 star reviews as they just aren't correct.

Nice little cutter
For the price it was surprising good and effective.It made life so much easier on the lathe and cut the HSS steal really easily.

Cut stainless nicely. Excellent value for the money.
16mm shank tool.Overall very pleased with the tool and inserts.Cut mild steel with ease, no issues here.Cut stainless round bar with ease, medium depth cut, no coolant - made good chips & left a very nice surface finish.Six cutting edges on each insert so, used properly, it should last a long time.For the money, I can't complain so I'll give it 5.

Tips DO fit again now - January 2021. đź‘Ť
Came nicely oiled and with the mounting pin/plate already assembled.I was worried because of earlier reviews stating the tips don't fit - this has definitely been resolved as of 4 January 2021. As you can see, the tips with mine fit perfectlyReally lovely quality for the money.

The carbide tips don’t fit the holder!!
The 10 carbide tips don’t fit the holder. The holder has a M6 bolt, the tips have a 5mm hole so you cannot mount them to the holder.
