The battery works but it can only charge with the PS Vita charger. I tried just 2 different micro usb cord to 2 different blocks, and none of them would charge. I had to buy a replacement Vita specific charger from Amazon for like $9 and it is charging now.

I'm sure everyone has gone through the feeling of finding an old game while cleaning up and wanting to play it. Most of my old handheld consoles survived the test of time just fine, mostly due to the Gameboys not having any batteries left in them. However, the batteries in my PSP and PS Vita ended up bloating and needed replaced. This kit has saved the PS Vita, and now I can play those old games again! This kit is affordable, an the replacement was so simple that even I, an artist with no experience in this realm, could do it without help.

The only good thing about this is the replacement battery. The battery had 90% charge. It charges and holds a charge. Opening the PS Vita was no easy task. The tools provided in this kit are not robust enough for the job. The ends of them used to pry the Vita apart all broke. I had to use two tiny flat head screwdrivers.

I bought this to replace the original battery from my vita. This one soon died as well and the vita stopped turning on.

I inhereited a poor PSP with a battery that looked like it was just about to explode. I ordered this replacement with the hope of being able to breath some fresh life into the old system. For the price it was work the risk, as it was far cheaper than trying to find another system in working order. Installation was very easy and now the PSP is back in working order. It comes with everything you'll need and works great.

I'm rather impressed with the over all quality of the kit. The included tools are definitely cheap, but far better quality than most cheap pack in tools I have seen in electronics kits. As for the fit of the battery it does drop it with out any real fuss. As for the longevity of the battery? Who knows, but so far so good on the install and use. It seems to have returned my PS Vita back to like new.
