It does what I need it to do so I'm cool
The media could not be loaded. It works well with the Samsung 22 Ultra, which is a larger phone (229g), but you'll likely have to take a bulkier case off of it, or the phone clamps will not get a good grip, and your phone will be lost somewhere down a waterfall. Mechanically, this gimbal it's really amazing. It would have been amazing if engineers could allow a clockwise turn to go portrait, not counter clockwise and so you wouldn't need to take the phone out of the phone brackets to turn the phone upright- although, there is a mode if you tilt the gimbal to the right in PTF mode, it will turn it to a portrait mode with somewhat limited movement that is a little awkward but is still very usable to me. So I'm pleased I technically done need the app, just as I've heard about this device. The tracker is cool. Also makes the case that one doesn't need the application. Although, if you move too far away, like 10 feet (30 meters), your tracking starts to fall off drastically. But where you need to be, like when blogging or suchup close, it does its job well. I'm happy.I will day I HATE the tripod. It's complete garbage and made rather cheaply. I literally took it out now to calibrate the device with the tripod and noticed my gimbal was lopsided. 1 of the poorly made legs is too loose and goes beyond its designed limit of bend, so I can't use them. I have many replacements but the one with it sucks. Also beware if charging while using it. 10 minutes into using the gimbal, I got an "OVERHEATING" message with a really loud nose that will not stop until you unllug and turn the power off completely. I unplugged the charger and turned back on and haven't seen it since. That could be a problem if one need to use it for a long time but keep constant power going to it. I don't plan to do this but you never know. Despite that since it met me expectations exactly, it's a 5 for now.UPDATE: I did ask Hohem to replace the tripod feet and they did really quick. Really solid company.

Sturdy and strong gimbal for aspiring cinematographers- too big for mobile use
Due to the large number of positive reviews and videos, I purchased the M6 gimbal to record sporting events. PROS: It can handle all mobile phone weights and attachments with ease and has a strong motor to keep things filming smoothly. AI tracking is good and the kit comes with everything you would need. CON: (For my particular use, this gimbal is bulky and will not compactly fold down. It does come with a case to store everything, but when you are on the go- this isn't a gimbal that will fit in your cargo pant's pocket.) The only other con that I can find is that when using the Hohem Joy app with your phone, it seems to drain my iPhone's battery faster then when i was natively handheld recording the sporting events- but this M6 gimbal will allow you to suck power from the gimbal to recharge your mobile phone (with the appropriate cable) so that you won't need to carry around a 2nd battery power bank.If you want a more compact and portable gimbal, look into the Hohem V3.If you are want to film more professionally, then definitely buy this Hohem M6.

(I like it but) App fails to record/take pictures(for me)
This review is liable to change after I've used it more and ESPECIALLY if I can figure out what's wrong with the app. Before you buy you CAN check if this will happen to you by downloading the hohem joy app, allow all the permissions to your soul, skip connecting, and try video recording and see what happens. Why 1 star?(update below) 👇Honestly the gimbol itself has been great so far and I really like it but what I'm mainly upset about is the app that connects to it. Since the seller is the company that makes both the product and app I think since they are both are essential to each other that I should review them as a whole. Also keep in mind this is my first day with it.What's wrong with the app?For me and many others in the apps 1 star reviews on Google play, when I go to start recording the app says "video recording failed" it also doesn't seem to be able to save pictures either. Now I can use my own recording app just fine but that means I loose all of the button functionality which is a huge portion of this product as you can tell from all of the buttons spinners and sliders! Being able to record is one of the biggest use cases of this product and the fact that I can't is worse than any bad UI or uncostimizable app that at least works. This is very frustrating because I was and still am in love with this product but I do need it to work!I tried one of their other apps for a different gimbol and everything worked just fine! So it's literally just this app :(I also read a review that mentions that after an update was passed the same thing happened where it said recording failed but they reverted back to an older version of the app to fix it. I don't know how or if I can do that. I suspect the problem lies with the saving path and it doesn't seem to be customizable. I could be way off tho. Also if you are implementing stuff an app for remote control threw another phone would be cool cuz I have one phone for the camera and another backup that would be able to preview and control settings if implemented but that's honestly too niche for me to expect it but would be cool and unique.Update: ok so I got to know it better took it out to dinner made a movie and it's obvious that they've made it as non app dependent as possible(which I really like cuz I have a camera that requires a special app and won't work otherwise). With the ai camera tracking and the wireless remote (which you have to buy separately so that's coming in yet) it's usable without the app but you loose the record and zoom and focus buttons (maybe you'll have record but mine doesn't) which most of which you can easily just tap on the phone or don't need to touch at all. I'm still miffed on the app not being usable but even with that it's still pretty good. The light on it would really only be good in extreme darkness otherwise it doesn't do much unless you just want a bit of color pop. (It is nice and I'm glad it's there. The controls do feel a bit jankey and needed to play with them for quite a bit to figure them out and even after knowing them they are still awkward and slow (mainly using that side nob. Kinda wish it was a potentiometer with hard stops just so I can physically know where my settings are and that would be so much quicker easier and more intuitive. Beyond buttons and software being weird the build quality is slicker than a hippo on a butter slide. I love the look feel and it's hefty which I personally prefer over chinesium construction. The only other thing I have to complain about is that the phone clamp barely grips my half inch wide chonker of a phone which I understand most phones aren't as thick but also understand this was the only phone gimbol with the capacity to even hold my massive 398g wp21 ultra. Also it hits the power button which I can fix but just barely. With my phone having 9800mah I don't need to plug it in but if I wanted to that extra half an inch is half an inch out of balance cuz it's maxed. All that said and considering the app is unusable I'm giving this 4 stars cuz 3.5 rounds up. If app worked then id say 4.5 due to awkward input methods and software but still a really good tool.

Advanced video technology
What an engineering feat. This device keeps the frames rock steady. It will take quite a while to master the whole device. Rapid phone response to questions. Working on the Bluetooth remote control. Very light.Quite a project with potentially great results.
