Comforting and informative
Found it very helpful to read about this whole new terrifying world as sometimes what the DRs say goes in one ear and out the other in the stress of the moment. It’s all spot on and helpful even after NICU journey has ended. Based on UK and even though authors are American almost all of it was relevant to NHS experience (except the bits about how to pay your hospital bills!)

Informative and easily managed
For someone with no medical background this book was simply written and gave me a better understanding of what was happening to my baby. I could work through the sections which were relevant to my situation at my own pace. There didn't seem to be a lot of reading material out there which answered my questions but this was a godsend.

A well written honest book for anyone with a premmie
We brought this book as reference guide when our son was born at 26 weeks. Both and I agreed not to google anything but decided to buy a good book that we could read at the appropriate time.Looking back at our rollercoaster journey, I'm so pleased we brought it, yes, some of it is honest and a bit scary, but for us, we had to know the good and the bad. It's well written, albeit American, but for information on PDA's, ROP, blood transfusion, what to expect when at home etc it's fantastic!

I also like the parents point of view and then the doctors ...
My baby is currently on the neonatal unit after being born at 24 weeks. The doctors sometimes say things, forgetting that I'm not a trained professional and this book has been invaluable for these instances, explaining it really clearly. I also like the parents point of view and then the doctors point of view.

Useful
Bought this for my sister, who had twins at 26 weeks. She reads it daily and it has been a good source of information for her to refer to.As I have not read this, I can't say too much, but my sister has said it has been really useful!

An essential for all parents of a micro preemie!!
I would highly recommend this book to all parents and families of a micro preemie. I first came across this book when a parent on the neo-natal unit where my 23-weeker was being cared for during the 8 weeks and 3 days of her short life and after reading bits and pieces I decided to order my own copy... It's a neo-natal unit Bible equivalent!!

Highly recommended!
This book saved me from a complete meltdown during the toughest weeks after the premature birth of my baby son Max. It provides honest answers to all the questions the parent of a premature baby is asking herself. Highly recommended!
