I was hooked from the first page!
The writing was light, entertaining and had me hooked from the first page. I liked how the main character sometimes spoke outside of the story. It was as if she were in a conversation with you and telling you the story. You then went back to watching what was happening. Altogether it was all from the one point of view. The chapters were fairly long so you got a good chunk of the story before moving on. It didn't feel like the chapters were overly long because I was completely taken in and just wanted to keep on reading. There was a good flow which also helped. I actually read this book in a couple of days which is rare for me!The characters were great. I loved the main character. She had obviously been through a lot so you could see why she was the way she was. The supporting characters were also a joy to read. They added to the entertainment and created tension and emotion.Lastly the settings. It was mainly a character based story, but there were some good descriptions from a security point of view.Overall an excellent story that I loved from the beginning right through to the end. I would love to read more from this author. In the meantime I highly recommend reading this book!

"A seriously good thriller!"
Well what can I say other than I only bought this book after treading several ARC books and wanted something easy going and easy to read. Relax into a thriller but something different from my usual thrillers and just chill. And boy am I glad to have red this book which was outstandingly good it also covered all the above and despite not going to leave are view just read it then forget it. “I just couldn’t!”Female Body Guard Hannah is hired to guard Hollywood Jack Stapleton a heart throb while going home to be with his sick mother; but Hannah has to pretend to be his girlfriend to remain close and not let on to Jacks family. Only Hannah Jack and the security firm know anything about the stalkers stalking Jack. Not being what anyone expects a body guard to look like kinda fits in but doesn’t as Jacks are all film stars and drop dead looking.Things do not go to plan and the story grips you and keeps your interest and intrigue going and you zip through without stopping and finally getting to a unsuspecting ending. Well for me at least.Great thriller and book and “a must read!” even for die hard gritty crime thrillers like me. Was it a nice change? Sure was and a very refreshing one at that !

Readable, but no frills
This is definitely not Katherine Center's best work. It's light and readable, but not as good as some of her other books. The heroine is supposed to be a competent and experienced bodyguard, yet keeps getting in far fetched situations where she needs to be carried away or saved by the one person she was assigned to protect.I think Katherine Center does her usual fiction - and non romcoms - better.

Sweet and funny
This a really good book to loose yourself in, it is a great mix between hilarious and romantic with interesting and lovable characters that end up creating a sweet story with a pretty powerful lesson. It is a slow-burn romance where the main guy is dreamy and the main lady is kick-ass and to get through the journey there’s a lot of personal growth that has to be done.

One of the best rom coms I’ve ever read 🥰 -differently worth the hype.
⚠️TW -domestic violence ⚠️(only mentioned briefly on 2 separate pages)Wow!!! Such a unique plot for a romance story - and I loved it from the first couple of pages. It was that good that I stopped reading and ordered more of Katherine Ryan’s books before I had even finished 💕. I also had to make myself slow down while I was reading as I didn’t want the story to end and to say goodbye to the characters 😢. I lost track of the number of times I lol while reading the book😂. I also loved all the different characters and the witty banter too. This book was pretty much perfect.I can’t wait to read more of her books!!!

A sweet and heartwarming book. While not my favorite of her novels, I still thoroughly enjoyed reading it

Over-hyped fake girlfriend romance
Hannah Brooks is an Executive Protection Officer (aka bodyguard). When her mother dies and her long-term boyfriend dumps her shortly after all she wants to do is leave the USA and do her job, unfortunately her sadistic boss Glenn has other ideas and forces her to take lead on protecting movie star Jack Stapleton in their home state of Texas. What with cheating ex-boyfriends muscling in on Hannah's promotion to the London office, a cutsie stalker, and a a fake girlfriend Hannah has her hands full, not even considering her crush on Jack.Argh, someone recommended this so I splurge over £10 to buy an e-book (which frankly I only do for authors like Anne Bishop, Patricia Briggs and Ben Aaronovitch). Frankly, I was disappointed. A kick-ass bodyguard who exhibit absolutely no kick-ass characteristics whatsoever. In fact, she cried so much I was embarrassed for her. It was superficial, glib and (whisper) a bit boring TBH.A Hollywood superstar who's scarily down-to-earth and a bodyguard who is pole-axed by a Hollywood actor - unbelievable and it didn't really sell me.
