Does the lever under the handle make it awkward to hold?

No it doesn't. It would have been better if the button was the steamer rather than the water spray though.

How long is the cord?

Good length but iron not good. I had two and both stopped heating up after three weeks.

How many years warranty does this iron come with please?

If I remember right it's two years.
