Solid Alternative to the Stock PRS Trem
I bought this for my PRS because I love the guitar but wasn't a fan of the stock tremolo. It fits perfectly with no modifications or new screw holes required. I’m still dialing it in, the tremolo feels a bit loose for my taste, but it functions properly and stays in tune nearly as well as my double-locking guitars. One thing to note: the strings seemed to go into the rear block at an odd location. However, once I did my first string change, I realized the block leans back slightly when the tension is off, making the holes much easier to access than a standard rear-loaded floating trem. It's a very well-thought-out design. The bar also sits up a bit high; while that might not be for everyone, it’s a feature I personally really like.

Does Everything a Floyd does, without all the BS
I love a product that does everything as promised, and the Vega Trem is one. A Wonderfully and elegantly engineered and beautifully machined mechanism. The drop-in installation would have been nice enough, but the preset bridge saddles needed almost no adjustment, just a little height on the center strings to match the fretboard radius. Intonation was almost perfect. A variety of calibrated springs included to match your string gauge, brilliant. I haven’t been this happy with a piece of guitar gear in decades.

I really wanted to like this!
Since I can’t give lower than 1 star, I will give a few good points before the bad. Pros: - easy and fast to install and set up - made the tone of the guitar come alive - has a great feel - looks good - great range. Cons: - constantly slid left to right (very standard setup, 10-46 strings, normal springs etc), which when not sliding it would hold rock solid tuning, but when sliding no. - string breaker….before installing this I could count on one hand how many strings I broke in 40+ years of playing. I broke 2 in less than 12 hours. No burrs or anything found…just poor design - intonation/action adjustment feels like screws will strip For a trem that cost more than the best Floyds out there I expected perfection, and I really wanted to like it because of how it looked, felt and sounded, and the tuning stability, until it slid. So close to a perfect design, that if they could fix the 2 HUGE issues, this trem would be on every guitar. Until then, no thank you!

Took a bit to fit, but it was worth it
It didn’t fit. Why the five star review? Because with a little help from my dremel tool I sanded enough around the sides of the trem opening to make this fit. Once I got it set up, it transformed the way my Strat plays. It’s a parts caster so I’m not precious about it. Beware if you want zero modifications though. Depending on your Strat it may or may not drop in. I have to say it was worth it to shave a few millimeters off the edges to make this fit. It’s so smooth and it stays in tune. It seems very durable and is well made. I expect this will last a long time. It’s a great substitution for a Floyd Rose. I like this better because it’s more compact and looks like the stock trem. I highly recommend it. It’s the best mod I’ve done to this guitar so far.

Outstanding tremolo unit!!!
LOVE this tremolo system. Very responsive and 0 ‘play’ in the arm. Reminds me of ‘Strat’ sounding trem range… a la Jeff Beck, Gary Moore. You MAY need to think about getting some locking tuners, but perhaps not. GREAT unit!

Very durable and amazing tremolo bridge
This Tremolo it really is an awesome upgrade to my squier strat guitar, only thing is the bridge block is too big or the body of my Squier is too slim (tiny bit sticks out from cavity) other than that is amazing works perfectly fine and stays in tune!!!

Missing the spring set screws (factory sealed). The black finish is not very durable.
I have every reason to believe that this will be an amazing bridge (I will update again once it's installed). It seems like a solid build and feel, and the bar fits tightly with a teflon bushing and no slop or slack. That being said I got the black bridge and in the short time I've owned it after taking it out of the package and doing a test fit before painting my strat body, it's already showing paint wear from handing with bare hands and not coming in contact with any hard or sharp surfaces other than maybe a fingernail. The paint is rubbing off on the bridges sharp edges and the rough part of the block. The kit (it was factory sealed and in new condition) also didn't include set screws on the bridge block to lock the springs. One of the first things shown on the installation video was how to lock the spring to the bridge block with the set screw. Lastly it had a sticker on the trem arm telling you to keep it lubed, but it didn't include lube for the arm or the knife edge contacts of the bridge, both of which are sold for extra $ on the Vega Trem website. I think this will be a fantastic bridge and function wonderfully, and the seller shipped promptly through Amazon. It possibly deserves a 5 star review for tone and function (as I said, I'll update on the performance once installed) as everyone raves about the feel and range of the bridge, but I'm giving it 3 stars for my disappointment in the finish quality and that it's missing the set screws. I might also mention, I emailed VT and have yet to get a response about the missing parts. If you buy one of these bridges plan on picking up some metric 3x3 grub screws for the block, and maybe a few 3x5 for the saddles so if you need to adjust them low they're not poking the palm of your hand when bridge muting. Also, maybe reconsider getting black if you don't like "relic" guitars, as I'm sure the chrome or satin finish would hold up better. I hope my bar doesn't get all chipped up.... This is one of the most expensive bridges you can get, so I'm somewhat disappointed in it for the price.
