Possibly Best of the Series ...
I was gripping from start to finish - a-hollerin' at the screen and hurling abuses when people mistook their ally ... only mark-down ... Arnold wasn't in it enough ... great stuff.

Dont listen to the negative reviews; judge for yourself and you will be suprised.
Thank heavens they where brave enough to break awy from the tired formua of the last 3 movies. Sure the original Terminator was a classic; and the follow-up was a good sequel; but T3 was extremely poor and cheesey but maybe that was partly becuase they were going over the same old ground. What they should of done in T3 was to break away from the old Terminator-sent-back-in-time routine. From now on; when watching the Terminator series of films you should just leave out T3. The actual makers of this 4th movie have even stated that they made this film as a follow-on from film 2; they have completely disregarded the third film ..... as should we; it was that bad and almost ruined the franchise.Terminator 4 then is a refreshing change from the routine. No longer a film from the prespective of the past (our present) they are now telling the story of the future and mans resistance to the machines years after 'Judgement Day'. What is really clever however is that they have also turned the formua in on itself by making the past come to the present although not through any time machine. The action is excellent without getting too over the top. The scenes with the actual early-version terminators are also impressive .... especially since these earlier models being built before Skynet perfected linking living-tissue too machine; making them look almost like zombies or some super-mutant from the Fallout video-games.Honestly, if most people watch this movie with an open mind they will find a film that lives up very well with the first 2 movies and is a lot, lot better than the 3rd. The acting is decent, theres nothing wrong with the script, its not too over-the-top, the characters are interesting and overall this film is an intelligently achieved break from the tired old fomua. Good film.

Great For the Fans! Good for the Casual Viewer too! A Good Reboot of a Famous Franchise
Here we are at the fourth entry of the Terminator franchise and the big questions everyone asks are; does it improve on the weakest episode ( the third film : Rise of the Machines) ? and does it live up to the first two films that are such amazing sci-fi classics? The good news for every Terminator fan is, that it certainly does improve on the Rise of the Machines. But on the down side, it doesn't quite live up to the first two films - but then, how could it?And so onto the good points. Firstly, it is dark and menacing throughout, and the landscape of the future is excellently done. It really does feel like you are in the world, post Judgement Day. Another definite winner is the character of Marcus played by Sam Worthington. He really steals the show in this film and outshines Christian Bale. Anton Yelchin plays a good Kyle Reese too and is doing pretty well for himself starring in both this and the excellent Star Trek reboot this year. There are plenty of nods to the earlier films too - a really amazing set piece with a really well done CGI cameo will have you on the edge of your seat. Tapes from Sarah Connor to her son are a clever touch too. Another nice clip, is how John Connor gets his face scarred (as shown at the start of T2).And what is really goo about these little touches, is that they are not handled as badly as those in Rise of the Machines which were ham-fisted at best, and at worst, humiliating for the fans. The film moves on at a nice pace too and you don't feel like it has been dragged out too much. This film has been touted as being the first in a new Terminator trilogy, and the Terminator licence is up for renewal, so this may be the last entry in the canon but on this showing, i believe there is enough here to justify the next two films. It is not the huge disappointment that Phantom Menace was!So, there are lots of good points to revel in. However, there are some down sides to this film. The weakest element is actually John Connor, played by Christian Bale. And i don't think this is all really down to Bale himself. He is great as Batman and was brilliant in the Machinist, but in this film he is outshone by Sam Worthington. It almost feels like the writers were too afraid of his character to do something different and new with him. He feels very one dimensional. Bryce Dallas Howard as John Connor's wife is very under-used too. I quite liked some of the ideas for her role that were put out in Rise of the Machines, but here she is not given much screen time, and little plot to work with. A cameo for Michael Ironside too could have been worked much better too.The main plot is a little bit weak too. This could be down to the fact that the writers knew this was going to be the first in a new trilogy and are saving better for later on (if it happens!). Luckily, the character of Marcus and his plotline masks this somewhat.Overall, i really enjoyed this film and will enjoy watching it time and time again. It has definitely got the franchise back on track, and i hope that the proposed trilogy is completed - it definitely merits the final two parts in my opinion.I would recommend this to fans of the franchise - there are plenty of things in here to please them. The fans will definitely get more out of this than your regular cinema goer. For the casual observer, it could be a little confusing to follow this film, so i would definitely recommend watching the preceding films to get up to speed on everything that is going on.For the fan, this would get four stars, and for the casual viewer i would give it three stars. If you want to see two more Terminator films then buy this and hopefully the producers will go and make them! On this showing, it is entirely worth it in my opinion.

Great entertainment - let's not take it too seriously!
I have been waiting since 1985 for this movie! I remember going to see the first in an empty cinema because no one knew Cameron or Schwarzeneggar and sci-fi films were not the must-see films they are now. But I loved T1 so much for the time-bending plot, which of course you only fully appreciate at the end.T-S fulfilled all my expectations in terms of progressing the story, filling in gaps and giving a nod to future plotlines. I love Christian Bale - OK so he's the strong silent (or should that be "whispery") type, but I guess if you were leading humankind against destruction, you might be a bit dour! I love Sam Worthington, despite a few lapses into Austrine, but a great addition to the goodies - I hope they find a way to bring him into T5. I love Anton Yelchin - he's going to grow into a worthy successor to Michael Biehn who has the best movie line in history "I came across time for you, Sarah" - what woman wouldn't melt? I love Moon Goodblood - a strong and sensible female role. I was slightly disappointed that Kate Conner didn't get more of a look-in since she is instrumental in sending back the Terminator to T3.So overall brilliant, but I can take it for what it is - a film - and I'm quite amused by the amount of criticism that has been levelled at the movie. I jumped out of my skin at one point and clapped with glee at the final fight scene. So much fun!

Watchable, but not as good as the original terminator one and two.
Watchable, but also proof that you can never beat the original two masterpieces.

Terminator Savation : Mostly great movie with a few flaws.
Terminator Salvation is a great movie and the number 4 of this saga started in 1984 , mostly it reach its target but make a few errors in my point of view like two Terminator models are more like The Transformers (Motobot and Hydrobot). The story is very good and the special effects are simply amazing also the bonus material are not too bad since the Blu-Ray offer menu navigation beyond what simple DVD can do but you should get your Firmware updated for best viewing experience. If you are a fan of Terminator movies i strongly suggest you get also Terminator 4 : Salvation but you should get also Terminator The Sarah Connor Chronicles seasons 1 and 2 on Blu-Ray and see another Female Terminator called Cameron. The Sarrah Connor Chronicles get deep inside the concept of who , why and how Terminators have been created something the movies cant achives even when it get a long duration movie get Terminator : The Sarrah Chronicles are 31 Episodes of 45 minutes each. Finally to enjoy all of the Terminators movies you must accept to take the time to view them slowly one at a time and if you look around you Skynet the internet network around us is getting the control slowly of all what we use everyday so maybe not to far away from real ....The Movies in Theaters or TV Series about Terminator cant offer what it is available on Blu-Ray : the bonus materials and total control of viewing experience of course buying is more expensive that rental but if you want to be a movie collector that not too expensive. Also if you buy it before december 2010 you get a free download of the movie from iTunes on Mac and also there is an option for PC Windows Users , i use Mac so get a legal copy on my iPhone and it take only about 5 minutes to download and weight about 1.4 Gb in size.
