Escobar: The Inside Story of Pablo Escobar, the World's Most Powerful Criminal

GREAT READING!
I found this book to be very enlightening, informative and enthralling . Despite all of the negative information about Pablo Escabar, this book also shows his good and humanitarian side. His brother (who wrote this book) does not pull any punches and fully acknowledges the terrible actions of Pablo of which is has first hand knowledge, but he also tells about the absolute untrue actions his brother was accused of being responsible for doing. I truly enjoyed this book.

I'd rather watch paint dry
This is less a story line than a series of statements repeating a message that Pablo Escobar was powerful, wealthy or generous. How someone could dull down such a fascinating story to this level is a literary feat of epic proportions.I tried. I really really tried hard to finish this book, but 50% in I realised the drivel was eternal and had to cut my losses and walk away. It simply never started. I feel robbed for having spent the money.

Incredible Account of the Illegal Drug World
This is an amazing account of the life of Pablo Escabar and his extended network of cartel members and how they amassed huge wealth and fame. The irony of becoming one of the 10 wealthiest men in the world and at the same time the most notorious criminal on the planet enticed me to read this book. The impact Escabar had on the American economy was irreversable. A true non-fiction work that was impossible to put down.

Ok but..
Ok book if interested in Pablo's case but offered nothing new about it. Just a scratch on a surface which was a little dissapointing.

Eye opening read
I was so intrigued with this book. I had never heard about o Utah Pablo Escobar until my daughter travelled to South America and visited one of his deserted island homes. As a result I looked in kindle books to see if there was an account of his life . I rather fancied the one written by his brother as he was very close to the whole operation and Pablo himself. I also love true stories. I was amazed by the life of Pablo and actually saw the good in him for his Robin Hood imagine but at the same time horrified by all the crime and killings. I do believe that there was a lot of good in Pablo and although he made vast sums of money from the evils of the drug trade he did look after the poorer people of Columbia. However the cartels became too rich and powerful and forged Drug wars against each other and innocent people were caught up in the horrors. Pablo became the scapegoat and took the blame for most of it. There were people in high places e.g. Judges, police, government officials, prison staff, pilots, as well as congressmen who did very well out of the proceeds of the drug trade who were equally guilty as Pablo but Pablo and his family and associates paid the price in various ways, many losing their lives, whilst these 'officials' got away with living off the fat of the land. I felt sorry for Pablos brother because h e did not get involved with the killings and yet he and his family suffered just for having Escobar blood. I felt particularly sorry for him when he was blinded. I do recommend this book for anyway I interested in this genre.

Not quite what I expected
This account tends to focus more on Roberto Escobar and not Pablo Escobar, which is hardly surprising as its basically a narrative by Roberto Escobar. I was expecting a more detailed account of Pablo Escobar's exploits, also, to me it seems to be disjointed in the timeline of events, so I found that confusing.

Great book written by his accountant brother
Written by his brother who lets say is a little in awe of his brother. It's a fantastic true story and what I liked about it was where Roberto didn't know the exact story he didnt make it up - he says I think this happened, or I am not sure it happened like that.Would recommend, exciting in parts.

Keep an open mind
Before I bought and read this book, I knew who Pablo Escobar was but wanted to learn more about him. This book gave an insight further, however despite him being labelled as the modern day Robin Hood and helping the poor of Colombia, . He is definately not a role model after the other books that I read after this one.The book that I have just finished is by Mrs Escobar and I would advise you to buy and read that one. This will give you a true picture of what I can only describe was an evil, disgusting, cheating, lying little man.

Briliant
If only Pablo had stayed like he was in the early days, and not been caught with that daft mug shot. Things might have ended differently. The amount of murders he committed was insane. Great book, truly gives you insight into who he was.
