Will take getting used to
I like black tea. So I got this assuming this would be like all the black tea I have been used to. I have to say this is a acquired taste for sure. It was easy to make. Just like other black tea. Boil some water and add this. Wait 3-5 minutes and enjoy. This has the color of a black tea. But has a distinct smell. It has a strong taste of burnt and charcoal flavor. I do not enjoy that. I assume this takes a bit getting used to.

Strong and Smokey
I like black tea, but this one is A little too strong for me. When you open the bag it smells like your clothes smell when you’ve been near a campfire. It taste very Smokey, and I just can’t get past that smoky smell.

I mean….
It’s not BAD BAD. It’s just not my preferred taste. It’s a black tea, and like most black teas it tastes STRONG. It tastes like a bonfire to me but everyone precepts flavors differently. If you like strong tasting black tea I do recommend this. I just won’t be drinking it too much

Interesting black tea with a smoky flavor
This Lapsang Souchong tea is an interesting black tea. It has a nice, black tea flavor with a light, smoky note to it. I brew 2 tsp. of the loose tea leaves in a 8 oz. cup of freshly boiled water for 3-5 minutes. It is smooth, tasty and aromatic. It can be served hot or iced, and with milk and honey if desired. I like to enjoy it straight due to its distinctive smoky flavor. This comes in a pretty large, resealable Kraft bag. Mine has a best before date of 01/2026, which is nearly 3 years from now. The loose tea leaves are of good quality and fresh. Naturally caffeinated. Product of China. Overall, I like this tea a lot. It is smooth and tasty. The price seems pretty reasonable for the 8 oz. bag. It is worth giving it a try. Good tea.

Satisfying cup of tea.
It's a black tea, so it's rather like other black teas I've tried. The smoke flavor adds a bit of something - let's call it nostalgia for those great camping and hiking trips when I was younger. The smoke isn't overwhelming, it's just present.I'm a confirmed coffee drinker, and when I reach for a cup of tea, I expect my tea to compete with my regular coffee. This is strong enough, and flavorful enough to do exactly that. I steeped 2 tsp of tea in a 12 ounce coffee cup. The coloring when finished is a rather dark, reddish golden brown.I'll give my usual warning for imported teas: Don't load it up with additives, until you've tasted the pure tea. Typically, I put two pretty level teaspoons of sugar in my 12 ounce cup of coffee. I sampled this tea with no sugar, then added 1 spoon of sugar. In my opinion, that makes a perfect cup of tea.Five stars, I can highly recommend this tea.

Lovely, intensely smoky tea
This is a very high-quality, intensely flavored lapsang souchong — pine-smoked black tea from the traditional tea-growing region of Wuyi. Packed in a resealable pouch, the smoked leaves are dark brown and small; they show up as small, very dark-colored fragments when brewed. The aroma of pine smoke is very strong even when just opening the bag of dry tea leaves. When brewed as directed, using boiling water and steeped for 3 minutes using 1 heaping teaspoon per cup, the resulting tea was a lovely, quite dark red-brown in color. It had an intensely smoky aroma on the nose, along with a deep complexity and strength in the cup, with smoke lingering on the palate after each sip almost like a Scotch whiskey. (It came out so strong on first brewing that I will probably reduce how much tea I use in the future — that teaspoon evidently didn't need to be quite so heaping!) It's such a strongly flavored tea that it stands up to milk or sweeteners easily, with a nearly coffee-like quality pairing smoke and sweetness. It's a treat to drink either as a morning wake-up or a contemplative cup and seems like a high-quality lapsang souchong that well represents the special, intense flavor of wood-smoked tea.

Smoky flavor
This tea definitely has character. When I first opened the pouch, I felt a surprisingly strong smoky scent, which I liked very much. When I made myself a cup of this tea, the scent was still there. The taste is very distinct and the aftertaste is strong, too.I like that this tea is loose, as I definitely prefer loose teas to tea bags. I like the size of the tea leaves, they are not too big nor too small. Basically, I like everything about this tea. A cup of this tea is very refreshing, and I will mostly drink it in the morning.I can definitely recommend this tea to other tea lovers, especially those who like unusual flavors.
