Very very good
Very very good. I wish it would spin but it can't. So whatever you put on it will have to do the spining around instead. Well built yes I would recomend.

Compact stand folds small
Compact foldable lighting stand. Only thing is that one of the brackets has gone, still works but not my go to stand for lighting.

Great piece of kit from NEEWER, sturdy and brilliantly engineered, and yet lightweight
I must confess to being a bit of a fan of NEEWER products. I have found them to be very reliable, very well made and designed with a lot of thought. This light stand is following that trend. It can extend to over 85" tall and yet folds down in hardly any time to a mere 20" in length. In the cardboard box you get the lightweight light stand, a quarter-inch to three-eights inch screw adapter, a nicely made soft carrying case and a small leaflet which describes the parts. The stand is black finished aluminium with striking red leg braces. All the tightening methods just require a twist to lock and unlock the sections and the three legs similarly. It's an excellent system and is probably the quickest method you could design to untighten and tighten to adjust height etc. The hand/finger grips used for this 'twisting' mechanism are comfortable and very easy to control too.The three legs are a little unusual because they can be folded upwards (reversible) to pack away and they can also open out to be completely flat on the floor should you wish (in busy photographic studios that can be a big help to help avoiding tripping over tripod legs). The three pairs of metallic red leg braces move without resistance so, like the vertical pole joints, they are quick and ultra-smooth to adjust. I have used some light stand tripods that can be quite awkward and fiddly to adjust (especially opening and closing the tripod legs) but that's certainly not the case with the NEEWER stand.I think that one of the most remarkable features is how lightweight this stand is. It's extremely sturdy but when you pick it up you might think that it must be flimsy... it's anything but flimsy, and actually is one of the most reassuringly stable and strong stands I have ever used. I think that NEEWER team must have worked very hard to build such a stable stand that's so very light in weight.I guess that at around £90 this certainly isn't the cheapest light stand out there but it feels and handles so well that I think it's money well spent, and I would fully expect it to withstand heavy use for many years. The well made soft carry case is ideal to protect the stand when it's not being used or travelling with.I don't think I have ever used a better light stand than this NEEWER product and I can't imagine anyone would be disappointed with it. Definitely a 5 Star Stand!

A very well thought out lightweight, versatile stand
Once again, it’s a typical well thought out and designed NEEWER product. In this instance it’s a versatile light stand made from aluminium alloy with 180° reversible legs that doesn’t take up too much room for traveling or storage that comes with a standard 1/4" screw thread and 3/8” adapter plus a handy storage bag and a small instruction booklet. I must admit when I saw the illustration on Amazon, I thought the leg struts/braces would be the usual bits of pressed lightweight bendable metal as found on cheaply made light stands but no - these are really robust well-made aluminium spars, no messing about. To be fair this could also double up as a lightweight camera tripod to a degree: I have included a photo with a ball & socket tripod head as an example (it’s not supplied by the way!) so it’s quite versatile or rather it can be depending on your needs. Each section has grooved locking/adjusting collars that are handy should you be out in cold weather etc. as they are very easy to grip and twist. It extends close to a lofty 86 inches (220cm) high, so has great scope for overhead lighting or flash. Bottom line is it’s a typical well-made Neewer product that does exactly what it says it does - possibly more depending on your requirements plus it folds down to a compact bundle for easy storage/stowage in the supplied bag.

Innovative design and excellent build quality stand by Neewer.
I believe this is an excellent light stand for on location photography as well as travelling as it is super lightweight and folds down to a very small footprint. It is made of Aluminium Alloy hence durable and robust while keeping it lightweight. Neewer has done a great job with design as it is aesthetically pleasing with black and red combination. It has reversible legs that folds 180° degrees. It comes with 1/4" and 3/8" screws to mount your lights or modifiers. One thing I must mention as I like my review to be informative and impartial that this light stand would be only good for smaller Strobes or Speedlits as it is lightweight and wouldn't be safe to mount heavy Strobes. I have tested it using Neewer 65cm softbox and AD200 as well as Speedlite flash. Anything heavier will be problem. It will be great for LED RGB light panels used in videos and photography.I am very impressed with the quality of the stand, it is super lightweight and portable to carry on location. I would definitely recommend it.

Almost great
This product isn't fit for sale. I've purchased two of these stands, returned one a couple months ago for exchange and I'm about to return the second for a refund. The stand itself is good in terms of weight and functionality, but it's not suitable for use due to the screws threading on the collars. You can maybe avoid this issue by not folding and unfolding the stands regularly but as these are in my opinion travel stands, that's going to be hard to avoid. Once the collars/screws thread then the stand isn't usable.
