Caught Up In Us (Caught Up In Love) Paperback – April 1, 2013

Caught Up in Us was a fun, light and romantic read and just what I needed from Lauren Blakely. I picked this book up for my kindle several months ago but hadn't gotten around to reading it quite yet. I can't believe I waited so long.Kat is a successful jewelry designer in the final months of grad school at NYU when she has her first love, Bryan, who broke her heart 5 years ago, thrust back into her life. Immediately, she plays it cool and professional with Bryan, even though it is killing her to see him again and I loved that about her.I was Kat's biggest cheerleader when she gave Bryan the cold shoulder and cool indifference to everything he said. He had crushed her and then had the nerve to be flirty and act like nothing had happened. The fact that she didn't show how much he still affected her was sheer awesomeness. However, that didn't last long and I am pretty sure if I was ever heartbroken like that, I would be a total meanie because I wanted her to make him suffer a heck of a lot longer than she did.Bryan was a successful business man himself and very mature and professional. I wanted to dislike him because of what he did to Kat and how much he hurt her but I just couldn't stay mad at him as he furiously worked to get back in her good graces. As the book flashed back to what happened between them that summer and how it all went down, I saw something in Bryan that Kat hadn't seen at the time and it softened me towards him. He so obviously adored her and wanted to reconnect with her and prove himself. She was undeniably in love with him so that happened pretty quickly (much to my dismay at first).When they finally gave into their desires, it was steamy but they had a few obstacles preventing a full reconciliation and were forced to hide their budding romance. However, they made it work; oh did they make it work. I was blushing from how much they made it work. However, because they couldn't have a fully open relationship, Kat had doubts about Bryan's feelings and intentions, especially after the heartbreak she had experienced before. When she found out the truth about why he broke up with her all those years ago, she was understandably upset but then Bryan gave his little "I love you" monologue and even I melted a little inside.In the end, choices were made, it all worked out and Kat and Bryan got their happy ever after. It's what I expected from a book like this and I wouldn't have it any other way. Lauren will forever be my go to author when I have had too much intensity and angst and need something to make me laugh, maybe blush a little and believe in love and happy ever after. She is going to need to write faster! :-)

AND THEM BEING EACH OTHER'S YOUNG LOVE AND THEN FIVE YEARS LATER THEY COME BACK TO EACH OTHER AWWW SOO AMAZING WONDERFUL ROMANTIC!!!!!:)))) YEAH OF COURSE THERE WERE SOME CRAZINESS AND UPS AND DOWNS BUT THEY GOT THROUGH IT BECAUSE THEIR LOVE NEVER FAILED AND THAT'S ALL THAT MATTERS:)))) AND SO WHEN BRYAN WAS KAT'S MENTOR FOR HER BUSINESS CLASS SO SHE CAN GRADUATE AND GET HER MBA AND CONTINUE WITH HER JEWELRY SO THAT'S WHAT HAPPENED BUT WHILE WORKING TOGETHER THEY FOUND OUT THAT THEY STILL LOVE EACH OTHER AND NEVER STOPPED AWWW:))) BUT THAT LEAD TO PROBLEMS WITH THE PROFESSOR BECAUSE HIS RULE IS NO MESSING AROUND OR YOU GET A F BUT EVEN THOUGH THEY TRIED TO SNEAK AROUND KAT COULDN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE SO SHE WENT TO HER PROFESSOR AND TOLD HIM ALL WHAT HAPPENED AND HE SAID WELL YOU NEED A MENTOR TO PASS THIS CLASS BUT SHE ALREADY HAD AN IDEA THE PROFESSOR'S WIFE THAT HAS BEEN WORKING WITH KAT AND HER NECKLACES AND TO GET THEM IN STORES ISN'T THAT SOO AMAZING!!!! A charming story. What I really like about some authors is that they can create characters that you could be friends with if they were real.It makes them real and you become attached to them. I also really enjoyed the fact that Bryan and Kat were not too lovey dovey and proclaiming their love for each other over and over again.A realistic live story that was engaging.

This is perfect for anyone looking for a second chance romance with a sweet and sexy vibe. Kat fell in love with her brother's friend five years earlier when they had a secret summer romance. Just as Kat declared her love for Bryan, he broke off their relationship without ever saying he loved her . He goes on to make a successful career and Kat works hard at College and setting up her own fledgling business.When their paths cross again Kat tries to remain aloof but the passion never died for either of them. The path to true love never did run smooth and the two of them find obstacles in their way.This was sweet, sexy and enjoyable. For me it didn't have the wow factor of some of Lauren' s other books but I still liked it.HEA? YesCheating? No

This review is originally for 'Caught Up in Her'. It is the mini story about when Brian Leighton comes to stay at his best friend Nate Harpers for 3 weeks in the summer, helping out in his family shop before starting work.Brian has heard all about Nate's sister Kat, but is totally unprepared for how gorgeous she is. They hit it off immediately, but Brian know to stay clear of his best friends sister. They end up going to the movies, working in the shop together and finally have 'the' kiss. Their relationship doesn't work out and they end up not seeing each other for the next five years and that where Caught Up in Love begins.Caught Up in Love is about how Brian and Kat find each other again and how their feeling develop from mentor to lovers. As usual, Lauren Blakely writes a sexy, hot love story with characters who want to read about and want to get together. I give this book 4 stars.

It's a NICE book.I can't really push myself to say more than that unfortunately, though I did enjoy it. It's well written and keeps up a good pace, the characters are likeable and endearing and the male lead is sexy and dreamy, (if not the slightest bit sickly sweet).I liked the passionate affair that started up in the beginning and would have liked to have seen a bit more of the sneaking around as it was exciting and set the tone of infatuation / attraction / obsession... but it just seemed to peter off and get brushed over, which I thought was a bit of a shame.I didn't really like the ending if I'm honest, it seemed a bit rushed, but hey ho, it tied up the loose ends.I have downloaded 4 Lauren Blakely books, though this is the only one I've read. I'm looking forward to reading the next as I can't stress enough that I DID enjoy reading this one... it just didn't do enough for me, though there was a lot of promise.Again, nice, easy little read.

A sweet read about second chances and living your dream. Bryan broke Kat's heart the first time they were together and on their second meeting as Bryan is assigned to her as her business mentor, it is not long before the sparks fly between them and she loses her heart to him again. The path is not smooth as they both have to work through issues before they can be together. As everything seems to be conspiring against, can they ever find their HEA? I loved both Kat and Bryan - Kat's tentiveness in moving forward with Bryan is sweet and endearing, while Bryan's persistantness shows his true feelings. When the reason for leaving her the first time is revealed, you don't and can't hate him as his intentions were pure and genuine. A light read with lots of hotness.
