Makes a great golf cart backup substitute for the buzzer
I used this board to build a music player to replace the annoying backup beeper on my golf cart. It does not come with any instructions, but the info is available online. The default switch setting was perfect for what I wanted. I wired a single pole, 11 position switch to select which of the songs to play when power is applied to the board. Mounted the board and switch in a box that I mounted between the seats in the cart. Used a 20W speaker mounted next to where the existing beeper is. When the Forward/Reverse switch is in reverse, the + side of the 48V battery is connected to the beeper. I used that connection for the + to the board and the - for the board tapped into the batteries so that 18 volts is applied to the board when the switch is in reverse. The board contains 8 MB of storage, enough for up to 8 minutes of songs (I edit the sound clips I use to 30-45 seconds, they will just repeat as long as power is supplied to the board). I mounted the board on the back of the selection switch making up a small aluminum bracket to attach. Works great. I change the music depending on the season - for Christmas - Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer is going to be my number one song!

WORKS! - HERE'S HOW TIPS!
Cable is critical! From the reviews obviouly most people are having issues getting this board talking to get files on it. I went through 5 cables until I found a real mini USB DATA cable -not just for charging that worked. You do NOT need power connected on the board, just connect USB and it connects and you can see files. The green LED near the power input terminals will illuminate. You also have to rename the files 00001, 00002, 00003, etc., either MP3 or WAV extention. I also found mono lower rate files work and sound good. I had a rather high bit rate stereo file that had a pop sound ath ehr beginning until I lowered bit rate and converted to mono. Hope this helps everyone!

Very good except ...
Great amp & sound, and everything works perfectly. Uninstalled the trimpot and installed a pot on the box. Perfect to use with a PLC.Just wish it had more memory to store larger mp3 files (8 of them).Revision: Dip switch settings explanations for IO modes not clear. Unless the trigger connection is removed, all of the 4 IO modes continually play the selected sound; no dip switch setting to play the selected sound once.

cant put files on it
Plug it into my computer - doesnt recognize it. No way to put music files on it. Tried 2 other computers... nothing. No instructions, so Im left with a useless brick. I'd give it 0 stars if i could!

Works great!
Used this in a special project with a trigger button. Need to name your sound file as 00001, 00002, etc. I used a .wav file and everything works fine. It’s a bit finicky about the cable you use to transfer the file, so use a good quality cable.

Brush up on engineering degree.
Need to go back to college to actually be able to understand what you’re supposed to do to use this.
