I purchased this heat plate to use my sauce pans on my new induction cooktop. This was much cheaper than new saucepans. This works ok. The first time I used it I boiled hummingbird nectar and it worked, then the next time I tried to make nectar it would not boil and eventually my cooktop turned off. I hope that doesn't continue. I have used it for just heating things and it worked. I wrote another review for this item but I guess I was too harsh about receiving an open package when I purchased a new item and paid full price for them to post it. Just wanted to let customers to know what to look out for.

It worked fine for a few weeks. Then, it started MELTING. I cast iron coral instead.

This works exactly as described and is exactly what I needed.
