Simple and to the point
8 stars! I have katakana flash cards on my computer (came with a book), but they are only maybe 3/4" by 1" and are continually threatening to get lost.I wanted real flash cards, but I only needed katakana, not hirigana. Everything I saw had both. Also, they had stupid additions, like dressing the characters up as cartoon people, or some such dumb thing. Frilly little nonsense stuff. When I saw these, I was overjoyed. They were exactly what I wanted. And if I want hints, it looks like I can write them on the cards (I would not put them on the katakana side of the card). Also, as you can see in one of the pictures, they are color-coded. Each color corresponds to a consonant sound (with the obvious exception of vowels alone; the vowels alone have their own color).

My wife leaned Katakana in 2 days.
Really helpful, high quality cards. Fantastic learning tool. I would prefer if they were portrait orientation, but that's just me.

Worst flash cards I've purchased
Absolutely terrible cards. The whole point of flash cards is to be able to shuffle them and practicing them in random orders. But these cards are printed on a non-slick card stock that make them solidly stick to one another. They're absolutely useless.
