Entirely captivated the whole time. It's well written, one of those nice smooth reads that feels like it takes you no time at all.It's Beauty and the Beast but instead of a beastly curse he's a wizard who turns into a beast.Definitely reminded me of Howl's Moving Castle and had me thinking about how Howl's Moving Castle is kind of a spin on Beauty and the Beast itself. This beast wizard's castle is moving, that's why it reminded me of it. Plus there's a magical war going on but it's basically everyone working together against these nasty creatures.The whole story had me completely interested the entire time and I can't wait to read the next one! Especially with the cliffhanger.As for the spice level, the tension was there and that was hot but the real spice didn't happen until the end of the book.-review by Nicole Minken (Nightrey) under shared account

3.5Dual POV: Lisane FMC/ Rhaim MMCThis is based off the audiobook.'....that once precious things were put away, they were easily forgotten, and if they were forgotten long enough nobody notices when they break.'I enjoyed this one! I even got the second book after finishing Bend Her.We follow Lisane and Rhaim. And I loved whenever they were together.BUT sometimes when in Rhaim's POV, I would get a little bored following what he had to do.I just would like to understand why Rhaim helped Lisane? (view spoiler on good/reads)I love Phinx/Finx (not sure the spelling since I don't have the physical book just audio)He's so freaking cute, and just really enjoyed this character.This is a major slow burn and the spice...hmmm... MOST ADDICTIVE AND AMAZING READ!!!! I absolutely loved this book!!! I was given the amazing ability to be apart of ARC group for Bend Her which I am so thankful for. Before reading this book, I was struggling with finding books that made me want to read. This book was the book to make me fall in love with reading again. This book is a dark fantasy romance that is a retelling of Beauty and the beast. I am huge fan of dark romance and fantasy, but I typically not a fan of retellings. I have tried other retellings before and I just could not connect with reading style. So I decided to this one and give Beauty and the Beast retelling one more chance, and I am so glad I took a chance with Bend Her. I was hooked from the first page. The attention to the details with the characters and the surroundings was amazing. I fall in love with Lisane and Rhaim, but my absolutely favorite was Finx (The Spider Cat). I am big into spanking, I enjoy spanking being included in this book. I absolutely loved the spice level and type of spice in this book. I could not put this book down. I need Break Her now. I had to buy a physical copy of Bend Her because I love this book so much. When the next book come out, I will be ordering a physical copy as well . I already recommend Bend her to several of my friends because Cassie Alexander become my new favorite author. The whole book is filled with spice and amazing sass which I love. There is so much more I could say about this book Thank you, Cassie Alexander, for writing a book that made me realized why I fall in love with reading. I can't wait until May to read Break Her. I really do hope Cassie Alexander does some merchandise with Finx on it, Please and Thank you!!

The story was definitely not a slow burn. It literally got right to the point you didn’t have those first opening chapters of “the leaves are falling “&” the crisp wind blew my hair back” it’s none of that. If you are a really big fan of fantasy in this book definitely is for you because there is so much fantasy in ut and I did love that part. The tension buildup was definitely paste nicely. One thing that I didn’t really like that much was the author used Very big words I felt like were very unneeded. I couldn’t even pronounce half of the words that were the big ones. So the writing style I have to give it a three out of a five. The spice in the book literally did not happen until the last two chapters. It was a very big let down I love spicy books and I was told this was spicy and it most definitely was not spicy. So if you think this is a spicy book, it is not. Also this book has a two perspective going from one chapter to the other chapter so you have Lissan and then you have Rahim. So it’ll be a lissan point of view, one chapter and then rahim point of view the second chapter and it will keep repeating itself like that. I can appreciate a book that does that but at the same time it is a bit annoying. I give this book a three out of a five altogether. I do not think I will finish the series.

Great for fans of Beauty and the Beast and Howls moving castle. It's a slooooooow burn, but I'll read the other books.

I love Beauty and The Beast, is a great love story that has endured the test of time. This story has a different twist, the Beast is a mage and the beauty was left by her family at the beast’s door. Her father is king and need the beast mage talent to destroy monsters ravaging his kingdom. The story is entertaining as we see how beauty learns magic from the beast. She’s been trapped for years in her father’s palace and the beast gives her freedom but it comes with a price. I love the main couple’s relationship, is a very slow burn but it’s worth it.

Okay - WHAT!?I received an ARC copy for an honest review.I loved this story more than I anticipated. The Beauty and the Beast elements are certainly there but I love how Cassie still made her version very much her own.The characters were all written extremely well. Even characters that had little "page time" were given so much personality that I visualized exactly who they were very quickly.This is a steamy book with great slow-burn. Great taboo kinks (check content warnings!) On the spicy scale I rank it a 2 out of 5. And I'm assuming it's only going to get spicier!I cannot wait to continue this series. Thank you Cassie for creating an entertaining, spicy, and dark fairytale retelling!

Beautifully written. I couldn’t put it down. Very slow burn but the snippets of desire shown by the MF are enough to keep it feeling spicy. There is a lot of internal monologue but it’s wonderfully written. Never repeated. Deep and intense enough to keep me interested. Straight onto book 2.

The media could not be loaded.  I’m not sure what I was expecting … I don’t think it was this. I am however extremely pleased! By page thirteen I was shocked and had to share some lines. Then outraged and from then on utterly hooked! I was not prepared for the sweetness or the plot. I absolutely loved this book - I think I’m still in shock by how much! Onto the second one!
