Great alternative to a chest sensor for use with DDP Yoga app, lacking info on the dual connectivity
Great alternative to a chest sensor for use with the DDP Yoga app, lacking info on the dual connectivity!Purchased this as my old chest sensor was struggling and I was getting fed up of it and I wanted an arms heartbeat sensor instead and Polar are a reputable name in the health tracking industry.Primarily I wanted one to use with the DDP Yoga app on my iPad.Preferably I wanted one that would connect to the apple health app on my phone at the same time to record the workout and this seemed to tick both those boxes.Yes, I'm in the Apple ecosystem and Apple health isn't on the iPad.Now, as I hadn't seen this heartbeat sensor recommended in any of the DDP Yoga groups or on their website I was a bit dubious as to whether this would connect ok.But worry over it connects fine.BUT..........Not to the 2 devices as claimed by polar at the start! The only way I could get the info into apple health was to set the verity to the track workout and connect it to the iPad and then when finished, turn it off and on again connecting it to the polar flow app on my phone where it uploaded the tracked workout. What a ball ache and defeats why I purchased this device and I was considering sending the device back as not working as described (I wonder how many have done that already??)So, I contacted polar and they replied with giving me the standard info spiel which is in the sales information.I had to delve into the inter-web some to try and find the answer I was looking for to get this thing working as claimed as I don't like giving up too easily. So, this is the solution:1- Fire up the polar flow app on your phone.2- Turn on your verity sense and let it connect.3- When the verity sense has connected you can open another menu by tapping the 'cog' wheel. Here you can set up/turn on the dual connectivity.4- Fire up the app of your choice on your iPad (in my case DDP Yoga)5- Connect and voila! 2 devices connected at the same time :)Rinse and repeat each time you need to use.Polar, if you included this simple procedure in your instructions it would make life a lot easier because not everyone is 'tech savvy' and for the cost of the device compared to others, a couple of extra lines of print in the instructions isn't that much effort? Or even an instruction in the polar flow app?4 stars overall as the dual connectivity information is lacking.5 stars for accuracy as it seems pretty accurate.4 stars for the mobile app as thats a bit of a work it out for yourself job.5 stars for working out as its good and comfy on the forearm.Decent battery life too and its rechargeable.

Accurate reliable heart rate monitor
Bought this to replace an old Wahoo heart rate monitor that had failed. I have now been using this for a couple of week and am very pleased with it. It linked really easily to the Zwift app and the readings seem to be really accurate. Please be aware the XS is very small. I have it on the maximum limit. It was much smaller than I expected and I am not able to adjust it. Check the sizes before buying. There is a big difference between the standard and extra small straps.

Jiujitsu proof
Great product easy to setup and use and gets all the data!I struggled having something I could use to monitor my jiujitsu chest straps fall off or slip watches obviously are out of the question. This slides on and can be forgotten, the disc can sit tight against me and my rashguard covers it up.Highly recommend

Well worth the money
I had a wahoo ticker for zwift that was forever losing the connection. I have now been using this polar for a number of weeks it’s not lost connection once and is very accurate. Highly recommended and like I said well worth the money

Good workout aid: excellent price from Amazon: would recommend
Initially was problematic to connect to my iPhone 13 - the phone couldn't see the device. After 20 minutes managed to get it connected after repeatedly turning bluetooth on/ off on the phone. Since then has worked without any issues.Went back to my fitness store to purchase but they were nowhere near Amazon's priceGreat for keeping pace of your fitness. Would recommend

ACCURATE - DEFINITELY NOT
I bought this, plus the strap in July 2022. Initially it worked very well but had the odd data hiccup where the heart rate would drop from say 144 down to 135 for about 30 seconds then restore itself. I thought that was acceptable, not ideal but acceptable. All I’m trying to do is keep an eye on my heart rate and not over do it but also record the average heart rate over the session on the Polar Beat App so I can compare sessions fairly accurately. Recently, say over the past 12 weeks or so, the data drop out has gradually become so stupidly severe the transmitter is totally useless. The problem I think is that a decent quality battery now only lasts about 4-5 30 minute sessions if that. The voltage of a new battery is usually say 3.31 Volts. Once the HRM has been worn a few times, as soon as the voltage drops to about 3.00 Volts, the data recording becomes totally unreliable. I’ve just tried some Duracell Procell batteries and they are producing exactly the same results as the Duracell batteries so I really don’t think there is any issue with the battery. I should also mention that there is plenty of saliva used on the strap to help conductivity. At the moment, I feel it would be far more accurate simply guessing your heart rate. Also, irritatingly, the Beat App sometimes produces a message saying it can’t connect to the monitor because another App is using it. Well, it isn’t and I can’t get rid of the message without unpairing and repairing. That’s a pain in the arse if you’re out and about doing a run and you want to split it and restart. Last night was the final straw because I was using a new battery, without a tee shirt on and the transmitter was about 15 – 18 inches from my phone and the recording was utter rubbish – see picture. Additionally, the cross trainer should pick up the signal and display accordingly but it never displayed at all for the whole session.I’m going to try to contact Polar customer services to try and resolve this and if the situation improves drastically, I’ll amend the review. If it doesn’t, I’ll ask Amazon if I can review with zero stars, add some nice comments about the Polar Support and start investigating Garmin HRMs.

Works perfectly, not had it long enough to gauge longevity
The clip on the chest strap is the wrong way up, if it slid in from the top, it wouldn't risk falling out but it slides in from the bottom upwards.
