Pleasantly surprized
Had a dozen or so home VHS tapes to digitize. Worked as intended, upscaled to 1080P at 60 fps I believe. No issues. The problem was the quality of the VHS had degraded so much in 20 to 30 years. Wish I had done sooner. Live and learn. Used with Elgato cam link 4K to connect to PC. Great combination with OBS software.

Too Bad It Didn't Work
This product had gotten descent reviews so at the very least I expected it to produce reasonable video. I have an older TV with rca and hdmi inputs. The VCR runs perfect on the rca input and I tested the TV's hdmi input with a dvd player with hdmi. With this up converter, no matter the setting, there was either no video or a very poor black and white image. This was going to be part of a setup to digitize VHS tape. It seems with lower end products, it is a hit or miss whether it works or not.

Would be great if it did what it was supposed to
As others have stated, this thing just doesn't work out. I saw this product mentioned in a YouTube video showing how to upscale your old Hi8 home video tapes and it seemed to work just fine for them but the reviews here on Amazon said otherwise. The picture color was black and white for no apparent reason. There also seemed to be no sign of being upscaled, which I figured wouldn't actually work to begin with. It's nice that it has tons of options for aspect ratios but they're rendered useless if the colors are messed with. Unfortunately, this was returned.

Fine converter device
For transferring vhs tapes, quality is ok, use the s-video better than composite

Poor Picture Quality
This YITROX HDMI Converter Up-scaler did not do a very good job of capturing the original source. It is supposed to be an “Up-scaler”, but I saw no such thing. I was using a Sharp 8mm camcorder. I ended up routing the Sharp, through my digital Canon camcorder, and then into my computer. The AVI video files looked way clearer then the “Up-scaled” version using the YITROX HDMI Converter. I tried two converters before this one. One gave only black and white. The second gave some color, but all mottled, and off color. This was my third attempt to find something better than my Canon camcorder for getting my footage into the computer. Maybe nothing is better, but I’m still looking. By the way, if you do buy this unit, make sure to replace the power supply with a good one. Several people have had issues that may have been resolved by replacing the power supply. Here’s I link for the power supply, if Amazon will let me post it.https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08HT1HKJ3?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

Not happy with the product received - used and defective
The unit I received appeared to be used. Box was slightly damaged and the user manual tattered. I kept the unit thinking it was a return that was tested and sent back out into the field. I bought the unit in February but just got around to plugging it in today (outside of my return window). I'm getting only black and white video from the unit using both s-video and composite inputs. I'm not happy. I want a working replacement as this unit is defective.
