Can this be used for trimming "below the belt"? If so, does it do a great job?

Yes it does. You can use one of the guards or not. If you do not use a guard you will at some point nick yourself, l have nicked myself a few times a year - that’s the price you pay for a close shave. I have used this device for several years and it’s great. On a side note, l have used a couple other products for the same lower abdominal region and this one is the best I’ve used. On a side note, this device has never ever given me an ingrown hair as where one other trimmer l used gave me two in a few months and that was the first time in my life ever having that happen so obviously l quit using that device for below the belt.

Can you use it without the battery charged? corded use? one review said "you can't just run it while plugged in"

I just purchased 5100 (works in the shower, too) in September 2019, and, it works both with the cord, and, without the cord. I also have 7100 (wash under the tap, not in the shower) from 2017, and, although the manual says it should work while it is corded, but, ti doesn't work. But 7100 is fast charging in 15-20 min for a quick haircut (men's short-hair style or a grooming, within 20-25 min.

How are the lenghts and use for mustache (I keep mine just under 1/4")
