It was easy to mix, no different to my usual go to protein powder. However the taste was not good, I found it to be quite bitter with a nutty aftertaste. I asked my partner to try it without telling him what it was and he thought it was peanut butter! This could be just personal preference as my usual go to is a sweeter salted caramel. I think it would be ok mixed into something else, but on its own with water I will struggle to drink this. Although it is a large tub it is expensive (£38.99 at time of review) I guess you are paying extra because it is plant based?

This is a high quality protein, you get nearly 80% protein per portion which you can calculate by dividing protein per serving with serving size, so in this case 23/30 = 0.76 (76% of protein per serving). You don't want to buy anything that is below 0.70 since then it becomes just a blend of random ingredients (often times bad quality filler stuff or protein blend which is not good for you) and not actually protein powder. The taste is good, so far the best chocolate plant based protein I've tried and does not have that gritty texture that is typical to vegan protein powders. It has a weird after taste on the tongue (at least when mixing it with just water) but at least it only lasts for a few seconds. The consistency is like one of those thick chocolate milks like Frijj from Muller. Highly recommend this if you are looking for high amount of protein for your shakes and not low quality protein blends, the amino acids are an added benefit so it's perfect for people who work out.

I really enjoyed this protein powder from Kinetica. I'll be honest i don't normally go a lot on the vegan chocolate protein powders as they don't tend to taste that good compared to their whey counterparts but i found this one from Kinetica to be really nice & by far the best tasting vegan chocolate flavoured protein powder i've tried to date, which when mixed with oat milk tasted amazing & had a really nice creamy & chocolaty flavour. Once you get past the two seals on the tub you are welcomed by an amazing chocolaty aroma. I did follow the directions on the back of the tub & mixed up one scoop per 200ml but i personally found the consistency a little too thick for my liking so added a little extra oat milk & have been mixing it with around 250ml per scoop ever since. It boasts a pretty impressive ingredients list with a lot of natural ingredients & flavours. Each serving contains 23g of plant protein for 117calories which is really good, but as an added bonus each serving also has 3.6grams of BCAA's which can help increase muscle protein synthesis as well as to help aid in muscle recovery after your workouts. It mixed up perfectly with the oat milk & was ready to drink straight away with zero lumps although this was when i used my shaker cups that had a mixing grid or a mixing ball inside. I did attempt to use my standard shaker without a mixing ball but i did get a couple lumps in it but it was only a few so its not a massive game changer by any means. Overall i really liked this protein powder from Kinetica. At the time of writing it's currently £38.99 for the 1kg tub with 33 servings so it works out around £1.18 per serving which isn't overly expensive for vegan supplements but maybe a little on the high side. When comparing this to my usual brand of vegan protein powder the Kinetica does work out a couple pounds more expensive on a 1kg tub but i feel the price is reflected in the quality of the ingredients. If your after a vegan chocolate protein powder i'd still highly recommend this one as i genuinely did think it tasted amazing although there maybe slightly cheaper options out there if you shop around.

I have to be honest and say that I don't feel vegan protein powders taste the best, typically. I think this is just down to the fact many of the protein types vegan supplement companies must use have quite strong aftertastes and many also avoid using sweeteners. Now, this protein power by Kinetica does use a fair amount of sweeteners (including Sucralose, Steviol Glycosides from Stevia), so I did find it tasted sweeter than many I've tried and the after-taste is mostly muted as a result. Added to this, the chocolate taste was strong and enjoyable, and the creamy texture made it taste like a pretty decent milk-shake, honestly. This is especially impressive when you consider pea-protein is the main protein-source - as this typically has the strongest after-taste of the vegan protein sources. Nutritionally, this drink is low in sugar and fat. There's some carbs in there, but 11grams is pretty minimal, especially if you've just worked out. Protein-wise, you have a solid 23grams per 30gram scoop, which is not too far off animal-product based protein powders. Calories are also very low at just 114calories per 30gram scoop. With the tub containing 1000grams (1kg), you get 33 servings. Speaking of the tub, it's very easy to store upright and also to access the protein with the included scoop due to the wide and circular opening.
