Heat YES, cold OK
I absolutely love this little pack. The clay really holds the temperature well for heat (which is what i use it for) and the sleeve is the perfect thickness to not allow it to burn but also not shield too much of the heat. I have used it for ice a handful of times and it does a decent job, but I find it loses that really icy feel pretty quickly especially If your body is really warm (I can run pretty hot). I feel it wouldn't be sufficient to ice injuries and keep the desired temp for the full 15 to 30 minutes you would want to ice something. It's still wonderful if you just want a nice cool down though! The plastic or vinyl material (sorry I'm not exactly sure which it is) encasing the clay is very thick and durable. I also like that it has almost half inch excess around the edge... you can grab it out of the microwave without burning your fingers. The directions are written on the encasement so you don't have to worry about forgetting them or losing the paper instructions. And the elastic band that's on it... ITS VELCRO AND DETACHABLE at one end so you can wrap the pack around a limb and then wrap the band around to hold it in place. The previous one I had... literally never knew that the entire time 🤣It's a nice feature to have though. All in all I think this is an amazing product and well worth the money EVEN If it were just a heat pack. Just beware if you want it for an ice pack specifically for injuries... it may not be your go to. Still giving it 5 stars because it's truly an awesome little pack.

Comfort in the shape of Clay 💖
I cannot live comfortably without these. I have three and I'm keeping my eye out for a price drop to pick up another one. I keep one in the freezer at all times and one ready to be heated in the microwave. They can absolutely be used interchangeably as a hot/cold pack, but I prefer to designate them for one or the other. Years ago I somehow contorted my neck on a flight to visit a friend and was offered this to give me some pain relief. I was so happy to find the exact same one on Amazon. This has some weight to it because it's clay so be aware of that if the heaviness would be a concern for you to lift or bear the weight of on an ankle or wrist. I love that the added weight helps it stay put and conform to the area I place it on, but it might not work for you. The included pouch and velcro wrap came in handy when I hurt my ankle and it does give a nice barrier if it's initially too cold. I've used mine for years and I've never had an issue, they're very durable and I love the hot/cold option over traditional ice packs and heating pads.

Versatile
I bought the smaller size of this hot/cold pack years ago from my local RiteAid store. It was on sale & I thought, why not. I have lower back issues & since you can either microwave it or freeze it, I found that really appealing. First time I used it I nuked it in the microwave & used it on my back. I was pleasantly surprised that it stayed hot for a really long time. (Stays cold for a really long time too!) It’s flexible, you can actually mold it to the area of your body that you’re using it on. It’s not like your average gel pack ones, it’s made with some sort of flexible clay, which keeps it hotter or colder longer than your average gel filled packs! When I got my 1st one I wished I had bought a second one. Fast forward a few years & I was using it on my back & looking for something else on Amazon, & the thought hit me: I wonder if Amazon has this, they have everything else! That’s when I got my second one, same size as my 1st one. Now a few or so months later I get this message to write a review. Which got me to thinking, do they make bigger sizes & they do! I just ordered the biggest size one! As far as durability goes, I believe I’ve had my 1st pack for around 6 years or so & I still have the original cloth cover that came with it too! I guess you’ve come to the conclusion that I’m a big fan of this product! I hope this was somewhat helpful to those of you that are interested in this product!

Very good product
I love this cold pack. Just be aware that it doesn't stay frozen for a long period of time. I keep 2 in ziploc bags in my freezer so they're always ready to use. If I find I need it for a longer period of time, I just switch to the second one and put the first back in the freezer. I've never used it for heat. Electric heating pads and throws are so good.

Second one I've bought
I've had one for years and love it. Great for wrapping around your back or shoulder as shown. Once its warm I now have a second one ready to go. It doesn't prohibit you from moving around and stays in place when I sleep with it on my back or shoulder. It's just the right thickness to stay cold for a good amount of time but not too thick to make you uncomfortable to sleep on it.

A must for aching muscles.
Works great hot or cold. Velcro strap is a huge help to secure the pad to area you are focusing on. This is a replace for one I had for years. Still the same great quality. The only hot/cold pad we use.

My favorite
My favorite ice pack out there! Forms to what you put it on, stays cold for a long time & reliable. My go to when I'm not feeling well for anything!

Retain hot or cold temperature for long time, no scent, takes up little space, perfect
I bought five of these for my hip replacement surgery so I could rotate them as often as I wanted, and keep one warm for other parts of my body that would become sore during exercise. (The surgical location only got the ice pack, never heat). The clay holds its temperature for a long time, the case velcros around body parts easily, and the price is great. I’d recommend these for cold or hot use to anyone. I only ended up using 3 of the 5 during the post-surgery weeks since they get cold really fast. I gave number four as a gift to my physical therapist who has very active and athletic days; she uses hers so often, her husband calls this Pack “her boyfriend” or “the other man” because she sleeps with him so often. She now gives them as gifts. They’re a really nice size for a larger area like a lower back or a hip, she’s mentioned. I’m keeping the last one until my next deserving health care provider gets it as a gift.
