Very simple part to replace on your own. Just have to know how to take off the heater's side panels to get to it (and probably also take off the top cover that houses the control panel for easier access). Pool stores wanted $150 for the OEM replacement part. This sensor worked perfectly at a fraction of the price. Solved my E05 error and the pool is heating up again.If any of the following sounds familiar this part is probably what you need: The original OEM sensor went bad (causing the E05 to show on the control panel screen). It would start out fine and I could hear the ignition but after about 30-45 seconds the heater would shut down. My heater allows me to see the SFS temp under the menu options. I could watch as the sensor initially started climbing in temperature. When it reached 90 to 140 degrees it would suddenly show "40" -- it was definitely not 40 degrees outside or in the flue. I presume this "40" either means it lost connection or that the sensor was sending a signal the heater couldn't understand because after 30 seconds of seeing this "40" the heater would shut down. With the new part, the SFS Temp consistently climbs upward to about 315 degrees and stays there. No more faulty sensor!

Easy to install just look up how to do it on YouTube and compared to the OEM Pentair, it's a no-brainer! This is a fraction of the cost and works well. Highly recommend.

Fits fine, easy to install, fixes Error 05. We’ll see ho long it lasts and I will update. However, it is a fraction of the cost of the OEM one and that one lasted less than two years.
