"Small-dose" lithium has become a boon to the quality of my life. The effect itself is subtle, but I soon notice that I'm not having negative and self-defeating thoughts. Before beginning this, I did a lot of research, and one of the most important things I liked about what I learned is that lithium is a supplement, not a drug. It's also not a magic bullet for mental health, but it helps me. I only wish I had discovered lithium orotate years ago, even back when I was in high school.This type of lithium comes in 1mg and up, and I decided to start out with small doses, since more doesn't always mean better. I started with 1mg, and will order 10mg next time, since I now take two or even three of these 5mg capsules, and I find this to be most effective for me. I don't necessarily take lithium at regular intervals, but usually when I start to notice negative feelings and thoughts arising, which is far less frequently these days.

Lithium is a mineral that is well known as a psychiatric medication. For that purpose, it is used in a much higher dose than the supplement. All indications are that it is safe to take this small (5 mg) dosage, although probably not if you are pregnant. If you are taking other medications, ask your doctor about taking this.Some research indicates that lithium stimulates vitamin transport to the brain, particularly of B12 and folic acid. Other research is ongoing.I have not noticed any side effects from taking this supplement.

This product is in stable capsules.I had been using pressed tablets from another vendor. Sadly, that vendor stopped properly pressing its product. Three jars in a row had many tablets disintegrate with the worst jar almost filled with white powder.For now, it is safest to always choose capsules.
